If you are and even if you are not a born again Christian and follower of Jesus Christ, I cannot put into words how important it is that you read and understand this article.  Most of what you are about to read has not been taught in the past, nor is it currently being taught in any of today’s denominations. However, if you will take the time to read and verify the information provided to you , it’s almost a sure thing your views will be changed regarding the Word of God. This is especially true concerning the fulfillment of prophecy, the Rapture of His saints, and the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When it comes to Bible Prophecy, an overwhelming majority of teachers and preachers do not have the cast of characters right. If you don’t have the cast of characters correct, you will never correctly interpret or understand prophecy. Take the “Four Horseman of the Apocalypse” for example. Until you can name each one of them, you will not correctly understand the basics in prophecy. Yes, they are real people and each one them has a place in history. This is undeniable. The Bible lists each one of them in correct order of appearance and their names can be known because the description given in the Bible makes it possible. Because our Lord has revealed so much to us, you can even know the dates the seals of Revelation 6 are opened. In fact, Revelation 6 covers history from the time of Mohamed to the time of the Rapture of His saints. If you do not know who the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” are, you will not and cannot interpret Bible prophecy correctly. Nor can you validate the timeline our Lord has given us to verify the time of His return.

The names of these “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” will not be revealed here, but their names, accomplishments, and occupations are revealed at The REAL 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse

Because the time is so short before our Lord’s return, this page will mainly deal with how the Bible reveals the time and date of Christ’s return. Please don’t just write this off as just another guess at the date of our Lord’s return. There are at least three well established witnesses revealed here, and the Bible does pinpoint a very precise year, month, day and hour to be aware. If you don’t know it, you will miss it, and be classified as one of the 5 foolish virgins of Matthew 25. Even they knew the year, month, and day of the wedding, they just were not aware of the hour.

This article was actually the introduction to this free online book on Bible prophecy. However, because the return of our Lord is so near, this introduction was converted to a greatly scaled down version of the e-book in hope that the message might be read by more people. This article is fairly long, but hopefully you will find it more than worth the time it takes to read it. I know you will be amazed at how many events have been precisely prophesied in the last 20 years, and how many are being fulfilled as you read. Even if you have attended a Bible seminary or have spent years studying Bible prophecy. Here are just a few of the many things revealed in this book.

  • What the Sign of the Son of Man REALLY is and how it confirms the month, day, and time of day when our Lord will return for us. If you don’t know this, you will be a foolish virgin.
  • What is meant by “Times & Seasons” (Your probably in for a BIG surprise.)
  • How the “Feasts of the Lord” reveal the month and day of the Rapture of His saints and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. (Two different occurrences)
  • How the “Feasts of the Lord” are Gods Master Plan. They are Commemorative, Redemptive, and Prophetic
  • How Daniel chapter 12 contains 4 Prophecies of reveal how close we are to Judgement Day.
  • What you must do when the Rapture happens, or you will be one of the 5 foolish virgins.
  • How Paul prophesied the last church, (the church of Laodicea, the church of today) would hold to a false doctrine regarding the return of Christ and the Rapture of His saints.
  • It will be revealed what the 5 foolish virgins did not know that kept them out of the wedding, even though they knew the year, month, and day of the wedding.
  • How our Lord revealed these “Appointed Times” in Genesis chapter 1, even before He created man. Many have read this verse multiple times, but have never researched the meaning of “seasons.” If they had, they would have opened up a whole new world of interpretation and a greater understanding for many verses in the Word of God.
  • The meaning of original Hebrew word “moed” and how it relates to the seasons.
  • Why most of the church of Laodicea (the church of today) will not be raptured unless there are a lot of changes between now and then.
  • Where in the New Testament we are told that the “Feasts of the Lord” are prophetic and tell us when our Lord will perform each one of them.
  • The REAL Identities of the “Four Horseman of the Apocalypse” and the REAL “Man of Sin.” Christians do not realize that the Anti-Christ is not just “One evil man,” but the Man of Sin is the “One evil man.” He has already been here and gone, and the Bible as well as Fox News calls him by name. The Bible reveals when and where he would appear. It tells what he will do and what he will say. There is so much info on him that most of the e-book is about him.
  • + Many, Many, Many more things our Lord has revealed in His Word.

With that being said, let’s go into some of verses that show why we can and should know the time of our Lord’s return for us.

Why You Don’t Know – & – How You Can Know

The universally taught doctrine throughout Christendom regarding the Rapture of His saints is that we cannot know the year, month, day or hour it will occur. We are told over and over again that it could happen at any moment. When this is what one believes, then all verses having to do with the Rapture of His saints will be interpreted to agree with that belief, even if the interpretation does not make much sense.  There are a number of such verses found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Mark 13:32 (KJV)
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

There can be no doubt this verse was absolutely true when it was stated, but it does not mean it will remain true forever. Those who believe this verse will remain true forever, completely fail to consider a rather obvious problem here. If the Son never knows what day and hour He is to return, then He is never coming back unless the Father tells him. The good news is the Father has already told him. (Revelation 1:1) The additional good news is that the Son has already informed us He will tell us what the Father tells Him!

Revelation 1:1 (KJV)
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Why does it say, “which God gave unto him?” Would you not have believed it if it only stated “The Revelation of Jesus Christ?” Our Lord does not waste words. The purpose of telling us, which God gave unto him, is to let us know “neither the Son, but the Father” has been modified, and this information will now be available to us when we seek and there is a need to know.

John 16:13-15 (KJV)
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Christendom teaches “He could return at any moment,” yet they are completely unaware of the interpretation of the Sign of the Son of Man!  If they knew what this sign is, they would know it reveals the month and day the Rapture of His saints will occur. The Sign of the Son of Man is verified by a number of verses in the Old and New Testament, yet extremely few people know what this sign is. Revelation 18:1-4 paints a visual picture of it, but for some reason the connection has not been made.

Let Us Begin

Is the return of our Lord Jesus Christ an “Appointed Time” that you can know? The answer is, absolutely!  Are there specific verses or chapters we can look to that reveal the year, month, day, and hour of this event? The answer is, absolutely!  If this is really true, why isn’t this common knowledge, and why don’t our seminaries and ministers know and teach this to the congregations? Why do they teach us no one can know the time of His return and He could return at any moment?  Even though both these statements are provably incorrect, they are currently what the overwhelmingly majority of Christendom teaches and believes. So how and why did we get to this point where such an important doctrine (teaching) could be so totally opposite the truth? The answer to all these questions can be found in the Word of God, even to the exact year, month, day, and hour to be aware of His return.

If you will be patient, open your mind, read, and consider all the evidence; all these questions will be answered for you. By the time you come to the end of this article, you should be able to see why it is so important that you know this day. I would even go so far as to say, “He expects you to know when to expect Him.”

Let’s begin by providing you proof the Rapture of His Saints is not only an Appointed Time, but an Appointed Time by God first given to us over 3500 years ago. Why is it you have never heard this before from a Sunday school teacher or church sermon? There are a number of different reasons, but first and foremost is most churches these days seldom go into the Old Testament. The word “old” is probably taken to mean just that, old. This is a terrible mistake as the Old Testament contains Bible prophecy that is just now being fulfilled. The Old Testament has many teachings and lessons that will never be outdated. When studied together, it is the Old and New Covenant that provide strong proof and reveal to us the month and day the Rapture will occur.

Another important reason is one that goes back thousands of years, even to before the time of Christ. Jews were not allowed to question the rabbi. The same thing is true today. Everyone knows nobody can know the time of Christ’s return, so don’t you dare question, say, or believe differently.

The REAL Appointed Time of Christ’s Return

In order for you to understand why you can know this day, there is one word that must be studied. It is one of the most important words in the Bible. Once you understand the meaning of this word, it should lead you to a much greater understanding of the Bible. You probably have never heard this word before, even though it is used 223 times throughout the Old Testament. Because very few have heard it and even fewer know its complete meaning, many Bible verses are wrongly interpreted. It is a Hebrew word for which there is no Greek equivalent, so the word itself is only found in the Hebrew Old Testament. This means you have to recognize when its meaning should be applied in the New Testament, because the meaning of the verse can easily be changed if you are not aware of when the meaning of this word should be applied. So, what is this word? ………..

God’s Times and Seasons

To find out what the “times and the seasons” refer to, we must go back to the very first book of the Bible; as far back as the very chapter that starts out “In the beginning.”  Having to go back this far further demonstrates how God had all this planned out, right from the very beginning.  In fact, He first recorded these “times and seasons” in His Word two days before He created man, yet they have been completely missed by nearly all of the Bible translations available to us today.  Our Lord has not hidden from us what He is going to do; and yet that is what has been and is being taught regarding the most important events in the life of the church.  The fault lies with us because we have not paid attention to His “every word”; which is what we are to live by.  God is not guilty of not telling us these things; we are the ones that are guilty of not listening.  So, let’s take a look at what God revealed, even before He created mankind.

Genesis 1:14 (KJV)

In this verse God said he put the lights in the heavens to divide the day from the night and they would also be used for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.  Notice the order of the purposes of the lights in the heavens stated in this verse.  If we were to put them in the order that we thought most important, we would probably say days, years, seasons and signs, but God didn’t do that.  He said the lights in the heavens were for signs and for seasons first, and by so doing, He put them in order of importance to Him and to us.  Let’s take a look at why this is true. (The Sign of the Son of Man uses the Sun, Moon & Stars.)

First, there is one purpose listed here that does not fit in with the other three purposes, if we interpret this verse the way almost everyone else does.  God states in verse 16 the “greater light” (Sun) rules the day and the “lessor light” (Moon and stars) will rule the night. In other words, He is telling us the Sun, Moon and stars will be used to determine signs, seasons, days and years. This is true for three out of four events listed.   However, neither the sun, nor the moon, or the stars determine the “seasons”.  It is the tilt of Earth’s axis that determines the seasons.  So why did God put the seasons before days and years? Could the word “seasons” mean something different than the seasons of spring, summer, fall, and winter we have been taught and led to believe?  Let’s take a look and see!

Môʿēd – The Word that Times Forgot

Have you ever heard or studied the Hebrew word Môʿēd? It comes from the Hebrew word “ya’ad which is to set a date for a trial or to set a marriage engagement.  Please do not overlook the importance of this. Is this not a description in the simplest of terms of what we are all here for? To determine at the end of our physical life if we will be attending a wedding or a trial? As you look over the list of meanings for this in the word box at right, you can see there is nothing random, or “could happen at any moment” about this word.  A season is an appointed time (as beforehand) to convene a meeting for a definite purpose.  It is Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary number <4150>. Also notice that it also refers to a “feast”.  A “feast” in the Bible and to the Israelite people is not a celebration involving lots of food like most people would think.  AFeastis actually an appointed meeting time between God and Man. The word Môʿēd (pronounced “mo-ade”) is only used for gatherings and other appointments made by God Himself. Israelites had many other appointed times and festivals that were not given by God; for those the word “zeman” and “khag” are used. Knowing this will give more insight as to the true meanings of many verses in the Bible that speak of “appointed times, appointed gatherings,” or “times and seasons.” In the New Testament, sometimes they are referred to as just “times,” or just “seasons.”  Of course, these words are also used in the way most people understand, but many times in the New Testament they’re used to refer to the “Feasts of the Lord” which completely changes the way verses should be looked at and interpreted.

An example of how knowing the meaning and importance of this word can change the interpretation of a Bible verse can be demonstrated In Isaiah 14.

Isaiah 14:13 (KJV)
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

In this verse God is telling Lucifer what’s in his heart. This verse is also prophecy because God is also telling Lucifer what he (Lucifer) is going to do. Of note here is “I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation.” A number of commentaries believe this to be Mount Zaphon, or possibly the Mountain of Bel. There are even some that say this cannot mean Mount Moriah, God’s Holy Mountain.

However, there are two extremely good reasons why this can only refer to Mt. Moriah, which is also called the Temple Mount and God’s Holy Mountain.

  1. The Hebrew word used here for mount of the congregation is <4150> môʿēd. It is the place appointed for Israel to meet while attending the “Feasts” appointed by God.
  2. This is actually Bible prophecy already fulfilled. This verse says “I will sit also” meaning Lucifer was not the only one that has sat upon the mount of the congregation. This verse is referring to the Moslem temple “Dome of the Rock,” also named in the Bible as the “Abomination of Desolation.” This “Dome of the Rock” is sitting just north of where both Solomon’s and the second temple were built on Mt. Moriah.  This temple is such an abomination to God that He uses it in a number of timed prophecies in the Bible. They reveal the exact year this “Abomination” would be started, (set up) and then uses that year as the starting point in other prophecies. One of these prophecies reveals the time before the actual year Christ will return.

Môʿēd and the Feasts of the Lord

If you were to survey a group of Christians by asking them to name the Feasts of the Lord, it is likely most would have no idea what you are talking about and those that did would only be able to name one or two. One would think just the title “Feasts of the Lord” would give these feasts the special attention they deserve, but then again, they are named this in the “Old Testament.”

As mentioned previously, these “Feasts of the Lord” are somewhat disguised in the New Testament because there is no word for them in the Greek language. Instead, they go by Holy Days, Sabbaths, New Moon, times, seasons, times and seasons, and sometimes just called feasts.

Leviticus 23 spells out these “Feasts of the Lord.”  Even though you will not be able to see this yet, it will become clearer and clearer to you the further we get into it.  The word “môʿēd” not only refers to “an assembly” or an appointed (by God) “place of meeting as convened for a definite purpose as “appointed beforehand by God.” These “Feasts of the Lord” all refer to appointed meeting times between God and mankind.

Leviticus 23:4-6 (KJV)

These are the feasts <4150> of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. <4150> In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S Passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

The Hebrew word for convocation means “a rehearsal.”  In other words, theses feasts or gatherings appointed by God were rehearsals for actual appointed meeting times between God and Man at some future date.  Also, these are Feasts of the Lord and not Jewish Feasts, there is a big difference here that is very important and should not be taken lightly.  When we call them “Jewish Feasts” it is automatically assumed these “Feasts” are for Jews only, and nothing could be further from the truth.  When we understand that these are God’s Feasts or “Feasts of the Lord” it should put them in a totally different light.

Notice in the previous verses that the words “Feast” and “Seasons” are given the same number by Strong’s.  Also notice that these “Feasts” are given a very specific day on which they are to be rehearsed.  The Feast of Passover is the 14th day of the first month (Hebrew calendar Nisan 14) and the Feast of Unleavened Bread is the 15th day of the month. (Nisan 15)

Leviticus 23:10-11 (KJV)

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

Since the Sabbath is our Saturday, the “morrow after the Sabbath would be our Sunday.  This numbered day will vary from year to year depending on what day Nissan 15 falls on, but it is always the day after the first Sabbath after Nisan 15.  Again, it is a very specific day, appointed by our Lord.

Leviticus 23:15-16 (KJV)

And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.

The Feast of Pentecost is always held fifty days after the Feast of Firstfruits, again a very specific day that has been appointed by our Lord.

Leviticus 23:24 (KJV)

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

The Feast of Trumpets is in the seventh month on the first day of the month.  However, this date is dependent upon when the new moon occurs as we will discuss later. On the Hebrew calendar the new moon is used to determine Tishri 1, the beginning of the “Feast of Trumpets

Leviticus 23:27 (KJV)

Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

The Feast of Atonement is the tenth day of the seventh month.  (Tishri 10)

Leviticus 23:34 (KJV)

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

The Feast of Tabernacles begins the fifteenth day of the seventh month. (Tishri 15) Every single one of these feasts is assigned a specific day and it has been on that very same day ever since they were given.

Four times in Leviticus chapter 23 God says, “it shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.”  They were to celebrate these “Feasts of the Lord” every year on the appointed dates.  By celebrating these dates on a yearly basis, it helped keep them in good standing with the Lord and helped to keep them on the straight and narrow path.

When you list these Feasts of the Lord in a chart the calendar will look like this.  You can see that each feast is assigned a specific day even if it is not a “specific number date.” Remember, these Feasts are as they were given during the First Covenant.

The first 4 “Feasts” are called the “Spring Feasts” with the 4th or middle feast “Pentecost” sometimes being called the “Summer Feast” and the remaining three are the “Fall Feasts.”

Remember we said that God’s Feasts are “Appointed Times,” or meeting times between God and Man.  Our Lord does not physically come down from the heavens every year and meet with man.  However, he did physically come down and meet with man a little over 2000 years ago when Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem.  He came here and shed His blood to pay the penalty for our sin.

When He was crucified, do you know what day he died on?   Yes, he died on the Feast of Passover, Nisan 14.  He was the Passover, and because of what He did we can be passed over from death unto life.  On Nisan 15, The Feast of Unleavened Bread, he was in the grave.  On Nisan 17, The Feast of Firstfruits, He rose from the dead.  He was the first to conquer death.  Fifty days later the Holy Ghost descended from heaven and the Church was born on the Feast of Pentecost.

  • Note: Because the Jewish day begins with the onset of night (when the stars appear) and the Gentile Day begins at midnight (12 A.M.) there is often a discrepancy when doing time and number of days calculations, as the days do no not perfectly align.

Did you notice anything special that happened in the previous paragraphs?  Each one of the New Covenant dates fell exactly on the appointed meeting times of the Spring Feasts of the Old Covenant the Israelite’s were given to celebrate over 3500 years ago.  Each feast of the New Covenant was fulfilled on the exact same days that God told the Israelites to celebrate the Old Testament feasts 3500 years beforehand. (Moed, as appointed beforehand) Do you see the pattern here?  These “Seasons” spoken of in Genesis 1:14 are God’s appointed times to literally meet with man.  He gave the appointed times to the Israelite’s which they rehearse on a yearly basis, but each feast represents a literal appointed meeting time between God and man.  The Feasts of the Lord were given shortly after the Israelite’s left Egypt.  Even though they were given during Old Testament times, each one of these Feasts has a New Testament correlation.  The chart below shows the Feasts of the Lord on the left as given to the Israelite’s with the corresponding New Testament (Covenant) meeting time given at the right.

If our Lord fulfilled all the Spring Feasts and then fulfilled the Summer Feast fifty days later on the exact same days He made the appointments for 3500 years ago, do you really believe he will not do the same for the Fall Feasts?  What reason could you possibly have to think otherwise?

These appointed times were fulfilled the first time when God poured out his wrath upon Egypt to let His people go.  That first Passover was Nisan 14, with the Feast of Unleavened Bread the next day and the Feast of Firstfruits at its appointed time.  Of special note is that the Jews celebrate the Feast of Weeks, also known as Pentecost, as the day that the 10 commandments were given 3500 years ago.  Current-day Christians recognize it as the day the Holy Spirit was given, and the church was born 2000 years ago.  Do you see the connection here?  God gave the Law or guide for the first covenant and replaced it on the very same day with our current guide, His Holy Spirit.  This gap of fifty days in the New Covenant which matches up perfectly with the 50-day gap in the Old Covenant serves as a second witness that proves our Lord is using the very same days He appointed beforehand for both covenants.  What more evidence could you possibly need to see that God holds these feast days in very high esteem, and that He has indeed kept all the appointments on the exact days He scheduled them for, even to the point of using the exact same days for both the Old and New Covenants?

There is another important lesson to be gained from this.  The fact that our Lord used the very same days for two different covenants should show us the importance of our honoring these specific days.  If our Lord set the example of honoring a specific day for a specific purpose in two different covenants, should we not also?

In case you have not made the connection, The Feasts of the Lord are God’s Master Plan. They spell out the pathway of salvation. At the same time that God is working out His Master Plan in the life of the individual, He is also doing it on a worldwide basis. These Feasts are Commemorative, Prophetic, and Redemptive. They are CPR for mankind. (Cardio-Pulmonary-Resuscitation)

The next appointed meeting time on God’s calendar is the Feast of Trumpets. The Feast of Trumpets is a two-day feast. The first day spiritually represents our separation from the things of this world, making this Feast the Rapture of His saints. It is also known as the “New Moon Feast” because the Hebrew calendar is a lunar calendar. The first day of each month begins the day after the new moon when the first crescent of the moon is seen. This is the only feast that begins on the first of the month, so it is called the New Moon Feast. This feast is connected with the blowing of Trumpets.

The fact that the first four feasts of the old covenant, and the first four feasts of the new covenant were all fulfilled on the exact days for which the appointments were made, should convince anyone the Rapture of His saints will occur on the same night on which our Lord made the appointment.  In other words, this appointed meeting time tells us the month and day we can expect the Rapture of His saints to occur, but it does not give us the year or the hour to be aware.

THE “REAL” SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN!

If the Feasts of the Lord were not enough to convince you of the month and day of our Lord’s return for His saints, here is more information wrongly interpreted by the vast majority of Christendom.  If you have done any reading regarding the Sign of the Son of Man, you are probably aware almost nobody knows what this sign actually is.  If you don’t know what the Sign of the Son of Man is, how can one say that no one can know when our Lord is going to return? The Sign of the Son of Man does not reveal the year, but it does confirm the month and day, and it even tells us what part of the day. When we see The Sign of the Son of Man, we are instructed to lift up our heads because our redemption is near. If you don’t know what this sign is, how do you know when to lift up your head? How do you even know what to look for? If you don’t know what this sign is, it is a sure thing you are going to miss it. Here is the interpretation of the Sign of the Son of Man. You will believe this, because it’s the Word of God that will interpret it for you.

You previously read that in Genesis 1:14 our Lord told us He would use the Sun, Moon, and Stars as signs for His Seasons. (Feasts of the Lord, appointed meeting places and times.)  The Sign of the Son of Man uses all three lights in the heavens to inform us when our Lord will appear and Rapture His saints during the Feast of Trumpets. One could make the case Genesis 1:14 is the first prophecy in the Bible. It was given before He created man, yet it’s used to reveal when “the end shall be.” as Daniel 12 calls it.  One could say He told us of the end even before He finished telling us of the beginning! Here is the Sign of the Son of Man.

Matthew 24:27 (KJV)

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Almost all Biblical commentaries will tell you this means the Sign of the Son of Man will happen extremely quickly like a flash of lightning.  The rest will tell you the “Sign of the Son of Man” is Jesus Christ himself.  However, neither of these is correct.  This verse only gives us a small portion of what the “Sign of the Son of Man” actually is; and this verse is stating just the opposite of what most believe it to be saying. This verse is not the actual sign in itself.  The “Sign of the Son of Man” is revealed in this verse and the 5 verses to follow, beginning with verse 27 and ending with verse 31.

The “lightning” spoken of here is not a “bolt” of lightning, nor does it have anything to do with the speed or quickness of a bolt of lightning.  This becomes obvious when you go back to the original Greek word “astrapē” used for “lightning.”

As you can see from Strong’s Greek Dictionary the word “lightning” is better stated “bright shining” or “shining brightness.”  Lightning does not shine; it flashes.  Also notice the word “glare” is listed.  “Glare” is not an accurate description of what lightning does.  In the King James Bible, the verse itself uses the words “shineth to the west.” In addition, Luke 24:4 uses the exact same word, but it is interpreted as “shining.” Also notice that on one other application it was interpreted “light shining.”  So why have so many commentaries chosen to change and connect this verse with lightning?  It is because they did not understand the correct interpretation of the verse.

The Sun itself is the lightning spoken of in this verse.  Lightning does not come out of the east and shine to the west; but the Sun does!  “This verse simply stated says “as the sun (bright shining) comes from the east and shines to the west, the same will happen when the Son of Man comes.”  In other words, when Christ comes for us, it will happen in the same way and with the same timing or speed as the Sun rising in the east and going to the west.   In other words, it will be occurring at the rotational speed of the earth.  It will be a 24-hour event which happens just as a normal day.  This fits in perfectly with the teaching of the Feasts of the Lord where the first “day” of the Feast of Trumpets is the Rapture of His saints and the second day is the Day of the Lord.  However, there is more to it than just this, and as you are about to find out, this day will be anything but normal.

Matthew 24:28 (KJV)

For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Jesus was just informing us as to the timing or speed of the coming of the Son of Man. Since this verse starts with the word “For,” it must be connected to or a continuation of the previous verse.  All of the newer translations have replaced the word “eagles” with “vultures.”  This is another case where the interpreters used the words that fit their beliefs rather than using the words that allow us to discover what our Lord was actually trying to tell us.

In addition to almost all the new Bible translations changing the word “eagles” to “vultures,” the new commentaries claim that in this verse the “eagles” probably refers to “vultures” since eagles do not feed on the dead flesh of animals.  There are a couple of problems with this: First, eagles do feed on the flesh of dead animals, even roadkill. Both my brother and my nephew have witnessed this firsthand. The second problem with that interpretation is; where in this verse does it say anything about vultures feeding on dead carcasses?

Our Lord knows the difference between an eagle and a vulture and would not have made this mistake, or any mistake for that matter!  If you look at the meaning of the original Greek word for “eagles” you will find it to be “aetos,” and its meaning is “wind like flight.”

When the Son of man appears in the heavens, it will be for the Rapture of His saints.  We will be changed from our physical body into our spiritual body in the “twinkling of an eye.”  Our dead corpses will fall to the ground and our transformed spiritual bodies will be transported straight up to an altitude where they can be easily gathered together by His angels.  After they are transported up to an altitude where they can easily be gathered by His angels, they will hoover like an eagle in “wind like flight” until they are gathered by angels and carried off to the uttermost part of the heavens.  So, it is the descriptive words “wind like flight” of the name of the eagle that should have been used in this verse and not the name “eagle” itself.  The absolute proof what you have just read is correct is found just a few verses down from here, where the very same event is further detailed and verified.

Matthew 24:29 (KJV)

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Immediately after the tribulation of those daysThe definition of “those days” would be from the time of Mohamed, all the way to the time about to be described, which is the time of the Rapture.  This time of tribulation currently amounts to almost 1500 years.  This can be stated because of the interpretation from the previous verses.  Matthew 24: 4-26 lists 12 different plagues and / or warnings which take you from the time of Mohamed to the present time. The number 12 in the Bible speaks to governmental perfection and divine authority. This is exactly what will happen following the “tribulation of those days.

Mohamed is the false prophet spoken of in Matthew 24. These plagues / tribulations are given in reverse order, meaning the first occurs last and the last ones occur first. It is possible to name the year when these prophecies begin because we know when work began on the “Abomination of Desolation” which is the Muslim temple “Dome of the Rock.” In Matthew 24 our Lord calls it the Abomination of Desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, that stands in the holy place.” Work began on this Muslim temple which was built on the Temple Mount in 688 A,D.. It was built by the 9th Muslim Khalifa Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan in 688 A.D. This building is so offensive to God that He calls it an “Abomination” and uses its starting date as the beginning date and sometimes the ending date of multiple prophecies in both the Old and New Testaments.

Shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light This can only be interpreted as the description of a solar eclipse and a new moon.  Some might think “Shall the sun be darkened” is also the description of an event which happens every day, 365 days a year, during the evening hours when the sun goes down. While this is true, there is a problem with this possibility. Even though the New Moon is on the daylight side of the earth, that does not mean the sun will be darkened unless the moon passes between the Sun and the earth. There are verses in the Old and New Testament that speak of the sun and moon and stars, but each of them is slightly different. One must be very careful in how one interprets each on of these because if they were the same, our Lord would have used the same words.

These are descriptions of an annular solar eclipse known as a ring of fire eclipse. This type of eclipse rarely falls on the Feast of Trumpets. During this event, when the moon is on the daylight side of the Earth, the moon will pass directly in front of the Sun. At one point the moon will almost cover the entire Sun, except for a thin yellow ring encircling the moon. The moon will be far enough from the earth that it does not completely cover the Sun. Because the rays of the Sun are reflecting off the back side of the moon into space, they give off a red color around the moon that is redder than what you see during the blood moons of a lunar eclipse. After checking the NASA Eclipse Website, we found there will not be another ring of fire eclipse that falls on the Feast of Trumpets for at least another 20 years. (That’s as far forward as we checked.) However, there is another partial eclipse of the sun on the Feast of Trumpets in 2025. An interpretation of Revelation 6:12 will be put forth in the chapter “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” listed at the end of this article.

A verse in the book of Isaiah gives credence to the interpretation of “Shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light.” It also gives more credibility to the belief our Lord will return on a “Feast of Trumpets” during a New Moon that occurs during a Solar Eclipse.

Isaiah 24:23 (KJV)

Then the moon shall be confounded” tells us the moon does not know what to think when something else is providing light to the night side of the earth. It is the power of the moon to shed its light on the earth at night.

It should be noted

The moon shall not give her light tells us what night.  This is the description of the “new moon” phase which happens once every 29½ days.  When the moon is on the lightened or daylight side of the earth, the backside of the moon is toward the sun. Thus, the side of the moon we see does not receive sunlight, so it cannot reflect any sunlight. We are not able to see the moon for the same reason we do not see the stars during the day. The brightness of the sun hides the moon. We call this a “new moon. However, the Jews define a new moon to be the first thin crescent moon that appears the night after the new moon.

Since the Jews go by a lunar calendar, each “new moon” begins a new calendar month.  The Feast of Trumpets is also called the “New Moon” in Jewish tradition because it is the only feast held on the first day or “new moon” of the month.  The “new moon” is mentioned many times in the Bible, so it has great importance, but most Christians have no idea what it means.  The first part of this verse is simply stating that the Rapture will occur at night on the night of the “New Moon.”  This is the first indication in this chapter that tells us the Rapture will happen on the Feast of Trumpets, the night of the “new moon” which is Tishri 1 on the Hebrew calendar, the “Feast of Trumpets.”

And the stars shall fall from heavenThere is absolutely no way this can be taken literally as stars cannot literally fall from heaven.  Stars cannot fall from heaven because there is no place for them to fall that is not in the heavens.  Neither is this speaking of a meteor shower because this would still leave the stars in heaven.  This verse is informing us the light from the stars is going to appear and then disappear; making it seem as though they fell from the sky.  What could possibly cause such an event?  Did you ever stand under a streetlight at night and notice that when you looked up toward the sky you could not see the stars because the brightness of the streetlight was the brighter light?  It is this same type of thing that is going to happen during the Rapture, as our Lord explains this in the next part of the sentence.

And the powers of the heavens shall be shaken If taken literally this would have something to do with light, gravitational pull, or electromagnetic fields.  God’s Word does furnish us with the real meaning of this verse; however, we must once again go all the way back to the book of Genesis when God made the sun and the moon.  In God’s plan, one needs to know the beginning before one can know the end!

Genesis 1:16-18 (KJV)

16And God made two great lights; the greater light (Sun) to rule the day, and the lesser light (moon) to rule the night: he made the stars also.17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

Here, He is making it clear that the power must be that of light.  The Sun or “greater light” has power and rules over the day. The moon which is the “lesser light” rules over the night.  The verse says power(s) of the heaven’s plural; so, it is the power of the sun, the moon and the stars that will be shaken.  Remember, this is happening at night on the night of the “New Moon” when the moon is on the same side of the Earth as the Sun, so the moon will be incapable of shedding light on the night side of the earth. This means that something else will have to be providing light that shakes the powers of the heavens and causes the stars to fall from heaven.  Since He already told us in verse 27 that the coming of the Son of man shall be like a regular day with the light coming from the east and going to the west, we know it is going to happen just like the normal day we have known all our lives; the Sun rises in the east and sets in the west.  So, what is it that will make this day so different?

Later in this chapter it tells us that if the ruler (Goodman) of the house would have known what “watch” the thief would come, he would have watched.  This also tells us this will be occurring at night on the night side of the Earth because a watch is one of four 3-hour night shifts or watches.  Mark chapter 13 names these watches and provides us with the reason why the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

Mark 13:35 (KJV)

Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cock crowing, or in the morning:

Every one of these watches takes place during a time of no or very little sunlight.  Since we already know it is during the time of the “new moon” when the moon is on the same side of the earth where the sunlight is, this is telling us the Rapture will occur during the night hours. Thus, it will become like day during the middle of the night.  This will definitely shake up the powers of the heavens as who ever heard of it being noon day bright in the middle of the night?  This bright light on the dark or night side of the earth will also cause the light from the stars of heaven to fall or fail.  The power of the moon will be shaken because it will be the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ giving the light to the dark side of the Earth.  The power of the Sun will be shaken because the light on the night side of the Earth will be brighter than the Suns. That’s because the light on the night side of the Earth will be provided by the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Only the Sun is supposed to provide this kind of brightness.  This is exactly what our great and wonderful Savior does both figuratively and literally; He changes the darkness into light.  Our Lord provided us with a visual scenario of this taking place in the beginning of Revelation 18, but it seems like no one has connected it with the Rapture.  Note: “Another angel” spoken of here is once again our humble Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, just as He is called in other chapters of Revelation.

Revelation 18:1, 4 (KJV)

1And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Does this not form a picture of the Rapture in your mind?  The image of the brightness of our Lord lighting the Earth and a voice coming from heaven saying, “Come out of her my people.”

If this is not enough to convince you, here is another verse in the Old Testament that also speaks of this day and make it quite clear as to what time of day the Rapture will take place.

Zechariah 14:7 (KJV)

NOTE: When a brightness that is greater than the Sun lights the night side of the earth, it is only logical to deduct that the earth is going to experience a warming that is much greater than usual.  It could be surmised this extra heat may play a part in the fourth vial which is poured out upon the Sun and causes men to be scorched with heat.  This next statement is made with great reluctance, but the Progressives that preach to us about “Global Warming” and “Climate Change may be correct.  In fact, they are even correct about it being caused by mankind.  This is because it is the sins of mankind and his total refusal to acknowledge the Lordship of our & Savior Lord Jesus Christ that this judgement will be executed on the whole world.  It’s kind of ironic but the One they believe does not exist is the very One in total control and it is He that will be the supreme judge.

However, they are completely off base about the timing.  It is now being stated that unless we get rid of all cars, planes, cow farts, and fossil fuels in the next 12 years, everyone on earth will die.  This 12-year period of time is greatly exaggerated.  The period of time before the events our Lord is revealing to us in this chapter will probably take place in just a matter of days.

Matthew 24:30 (KJV)

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

We are told what the “Sign of the Son of Man” is in verse 27 but we are not given enough information to really understand what it is.  Next in verse 28 we are told what will happen when this sign appears, but we are still not given enough information to totally grasp what it means.  Verse 29 tells us when it will happen.  It will happen on the night of the “New Moon” when there is a “partial solar eclipse.” The night of a “New Moon” is the night of the month that the moon does not give its light.  It is also the event used to establish and represent the Feast of Trumpets in the Feasts of the Lord.  We have not yet been provided the year the actual Rapture takes place, but we are given enough information to know it will happen during the night hours on the night of the New Moon.  This alone tells us the “could happen at any moment” crowd needs to do a little more research. Verse 30 tells us what is going to happen when the Sign of the Son of Man appears and verse 31 provides us with further details which allows us to understand what verses 27 and 28 are telling us.

Do you see a pattern here?  It is doubtful that anyone would be able to understand the bright shining or the eagles by just looking at those verses alone.  But when you do the research and look at verses that relate to the verses in question, you can know the answers.  Just as our Lord spoke in parables to encourage us to seek, so does He regarding His prophetic revelations.  The Word of God tells us that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.  All the information needed to solve this was found in His Word, we just have to seek and know Him as our Prophet, Priest and King.

Matthew 24:31 (KJV)

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect (eagles of verse 28) from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpetThis is your second indication in Matthew 24 that tells us the Rapture will happen during the Feast of Trumpets (New Moon) as this was the only feast that features the blowing of the trumpet or the Hebrew word “shofar”.  This verse is a continuation and clarification of verse 28.

And they shall gather together his elect from the four winds Believe it or not this actually tells us the approximate altitude His elect will be transported up to when they are gathered together.  The four winds named here were discovered during World War II.  We call these winds the “jet stream.”  There are four of them; two in each hemisphere.  Each hemisphere has one Polar and one Subtropical wind stream.  These four winds play an important part in determining the weather, and they also play an important part in cooling the earth.  These are the same 4 winds that are held or stopped in Revelation 7:1, which may also contribute to men being scorched with great heat when the 4th vial is poured out.

If we add to the Sign of the Son of Man what’s revealed in Revelation 6:14, we see a fairly complete picture of the events taking place during the Rapture of His saints.  This verse takes place after the stars begin to fall from heaven “like a fig tree when it is shaken by a mighty wind;” describing the time following the saints being transported up to the region of the “four winds” and waiting to be gathered by His angels and carried off to the uttermost part of heaven.

Revelation 6:14 (KJV)

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

The diagram below shows the events as described in this verse.  It gives us a picture of what these events will look like as viewed from the heavens. The earth’s rotation as one end of a scroll and the angels gathering the saints is the rotation of the other end of the scroll as it is being rolled together.  Now you can see how the Rapture will take 24 hours to complete and you can see the extremely organized fashion in which our wonderful Savior will carry it out! No matter where you are on earth, the time of your redemption should be no more than an hour difference from anyone else because it is being performed at the rotational speed of the earth.

Note: Luke 17:32 reminds us to “Remember Lot’s wife” and do not look back.  Also, remember Peter walking on the water when he took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink.

Hopefully, there is no doubt in your mind the Rapture of His saints will set off the Feast of Trumpets on the night of the “new moon,” the start of the Fall Feasts of the Lord. The Feast of Trumpets is a two-day feast beginning the first day of the seventh Hebrew month. Tishri 1 is a 24-hour day being the Rapture of His Saints. This is immediately followed by the Day of the Lord. This can clearly be seen in:

Revelation 11:11-12 (KJV)
11 And after three days and a half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

These verses portray the Rapture of His saints, which is the opening of the 6th Seal, as is clearly demonstrated in Revelation 6:12-13. Immediately after the Rapture, we see that the second woe is past and the seventh trumpet sounds, announcing the Day of the Lord. (1000-year millennial reign of our Lord)

Revelation 11:14-15 (KJV)
14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (This describes “The Day of the Lord.”)

A very solid case has been made The Feasts of the Lord are appointed times we can know. They reveal the month and the day the Feast of Trumpets (Rapture) will take place, but they do not reveal the Year. The Sign of the Son of Man validates the month and day the Rapture will take place; and it even goes one step further by telling us it will occur during the night hours, but it does not tell us what time during the night. However, if we read just a little bit farther to the first 13 verses of Matthew 25, the Parable of the 10 Virgins, we are told of a more precise time we need to be aware.

The Parable of the 10 Virgins

Matthew 25:1 (KJV)
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

The first word of this Parable starts with the word “Then,” which means the subject has not changed even though the chapter number has.  It is a continuation of the discussion at the end of Matthew 24, which described the evil servant who does not know when his master will return.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto This opening phrase clearly tells us the kingdom of heaven is just like what we are going to read in this parable.  Many times in the Gospels and Revelation, Jesus uses likened to or just as; and in every instance, the comparison is precisely that.  Christ is informing us of things to come.  He is telling us what we are about to read is the information we will need to be ready and accounted worthy when the Wedding of the Lamb takes place.  For this reason, it is essential to pay close attention to EVERY word.  Matthew 25 and Revelation 3:20 should be proof enough.

All through the Bible, God has compared the relationship between Him and his people to be that of marriage; with our Lord being the Groom or Husband and His people being the wife or bride.  He uses this relationship because it portrays the closest and most loving relationship known to man, with the Rapture of His saints being the marriage ceremony pictured in this parable.  Many Christians believe the Wedding of the Lamb takes place in Heaven at some point in time after the Rapture, but such is not the case.  The Rapture of His saints IS the Wedding of the Lamb

Ten virginsWhy are there “10” Virgins?  Ten is the number that portrays a time of trials, a time of testing, or a test that one needs to overcome or understand. The word virgin conveys the message these are believers in Christ, or they would not be called virgins, nor would they be included in the wedding party.  They must recognize him as their one true God and give glory to Him.  If they were bowing their heads to another god and giving that false god the love and glory only our Lord deserves, they would be whores, and as such would not be participating in the wedding ceremony.

Which took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom Which took their lamps is further verification this ceremony (Rapture of His saints) is going to take place in the night just as the Sign of the Son of Man depicted, and just as the verses in Matthew, Mark, and Luke tell us.  Mark 13:36: Watch ye therefore, lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping.  There is no need to take a lamp unless this ceremony will be taking place at night.  What is so difficult to see or understand about this?  With this being the case, why do we teach that it could happen at any moment?  Why does our Lord choose to carry out this wedding at night?

There are multiple reasons for our Lord to do this at night, but there is one that stands out above the rest.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was born a Jew in the land of Judah.  A fact little known in the Gentile world is that Jewish weddings take place at night under the stars.  They perform the ceremony under the stars in a chuppah tent, which is a canopy type tent that is open on all sides.  This canopy tent is the same type of tent that Abraham and Sarah occupied.  Abraham’s tent was open on all sides to welcome people from all directions with unconditional hospitality.  The weddings are held at night under the stars to acknowledge the blessing given by God to Abraham; that his children shall be as numerous as the stars of the heavens

Matthew 25:2-4 (KJV)
2
And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

And five of them were wise, and five were foolish Notice that it does not say and five of them were good, and five were evil.  This choice of words further substantiates what was said earlier; these virgins are all worshipers of the only God, the Holy One of Israel.  The only difference given between the foolish and the wise virgins is that the five wise virgins brought additional oil for their lamps and the five foolish virgins did not.  That is the only difference between these two groups of virgins stated in this parable before the bridegroom comes.

Please take SPECIAL NOTE: All ten virgins knew the year, month, and day of the wedding as they would have missed the event entirely if they did not.  Do you know of anyone that has ever attended a wedding and did not know the day of the wedding?  It may seem like an over-simplistic deduction to make, but there are many who cannot see the forest because of all the trees.

Matthew 25:5 (KJV)
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

First, this is the tests we spoke of earlier when explaining the number 10 in Scripture. It indicates a trial or testing one must overcome.  The test of this parable is to discover the difference between these two groups of virgins, which should solve the riddle of why the wise virgins go in with Him to the wedding, and the foolish virgins are locked out.  To accomplish this, one must remain awake and active while the bridegroom tarries.  However, as stated they all slumbered and slept.”  The slumbered and slept represent two different stages of spiritual states, neither of which is complementary to the church of today.

To slumber is a state of drowsiness, which one often experiences just before going to sleep.  One usually becomes drowsy when there is a lack of activity, as in just sitting around and waiting as these virgins were doing.  Sleeping, on the other hand, is something that one does when they are tired.  One decides just to lay down and go to sleep.  Slumber will lead to sleep if nothing is done to come out of the slumber

Both of these states very much describe the church of today.  Jesus Christ has revealed everything we need concerning the end times and the Rapture of His saints, but His church has fallen asleep.  They have entered into a state of slumber.  The King James Bible was just too difficult to understand, so they went to one of the easy read translations rather than going to the original Greek or Hebrew and studying what each verse is saying.  Little did they know it was the easy read translations that were putting them to sleep.  If they had worked a little harder at understanding the Word of God, it might have been enough to keep them out of their slumber.

This verse is Bible prophecy telling us the church will be sleeping when our Savior calls.  This prophecy is spot-on and almost fulfilled.  The church is not only just sleeping; it has entered into a state of deep sleep.  The Man of Sin, Son of Perdition, and Satan in the flesh has already come and gone.  His revealing took place in 2014, and the church is still looking for him to come out of the European Union.  What’s even worse, the antichrist has been here for almost 1,500 years, and the church still does not know who it is!  The Bible is full of end time’s prophecy, but the church of today knows precious little of it, and what they do know, in practically no way resembles what the Word of God says.   Most believers are not even interested in prophecy and are perfectly content to accept what someone else tells them.  Some preachers feel Bible Prophecy is too controversial and others say if it doesn’t help win souls to Christ, it isn’t worth the time.  One pastor even said, “nobody knows what the Book of Revelation is about, so we don’t go there.”

Luke 18:8 (KJV)
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Matthew 25:6 (KJV)
And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

And at midnight there was a cry made Could our Lord possibly make it any clearer than this?  He began this chapter by telling us, The kingdom of heaven shall be likened unto.  The only way He could make it more precise would be by stating “I will return for you during the midnight watch.” The midnight watch is also referred to as the “Cockcrow watch.”

Midnight is definitely the time you would least expect it.  Christians will be snug in their beds with no idea what’s about to happen!  When the cry goes out, the Christian of today will react in one of four probable ways.

  1. They will not wake up until its noonday bright in the middle of the night, and like the five foolish virgins, they will miss the wedding.
  2. They will wake up when they hear the cry and not know what it is.
  3. They will wake up and know what the cry is, but they will not know what they must do.
  4. They will be waiting for the cry to go out during the midnight hour on the Feast of Trumpets. When they hear the cry, they will go outside and look to the east for the first indication of light to appear because they know this is the Sign of the Son of Man and the indication their redemption is near.  This describes what the five wise virgins will do.

Matthew 24:44 (KJV)
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Midnight, or the time when you are sleeping is also the time when you think not as in the time you are not thinking.

According to Revelation 11:12 the cry is a voice saying, Come up hither,or it could be the words quoted in Revelation 18:4 Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”  That would suggest that the foolish virgins could be partakers of the plagues that follow after the rapture.  It also supports what you read in Matthew 24:50-51, which states that the evil servant is not aware of the hour his master will be returning.

The phrase and at midnight there was a cry made makes it very obvious the Rapture of His saints will take place during the midnight watch.  Just as He promised to the wise and faithful servant, this phrase serves to make the wise servant aware of the hour the master of the house will return.  From this verse, we can deduce the call goes out at midnight, and both the wise and foolish saints are going to awaken.

There is another cry we can reference in the Word of God that went out at midnight.  It was the cry of the Egyptian people when the Lord killed all the firstborn of Egypt.  It is a previous example of our Lord during a time of judgment, choosing to visit man during the midnight hour.  However, there is a significant difference here.  During the time of the Egyptian visitation, those to be saved had to remain indoors under the protection of the blood of the lamb.  At the time of His next visitation, those who are saved by the blood of the Lamb must go out to meet Him, as the next part of this verse tells us.

Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.”  Please take special note that we are commanded to go ye out to meet Him.”  Do not take this LIGHTLY as if it is just a little window dressing added to this parable.  It is a command, and He will expect you to leave the place you are residing and go out to meet Him. (Unless you happen to be sleeping out under the stars on this night!) This is some of the extra light (knowledge) the wise virgins possessed which is signified by the additional oil they carried.

There will probably be some that read this and be thinking, “this is ridiculous,” but there are more witnesses in the Word of God that back this up.  Here is a second witness in God’s Word that verifies when the rapture occurs, we are to go ye out to meet Him.”

Joel 2:15-16 (KJV)
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

First, notice the blowing of the trumpet and the call for a solemn assembly.  That is the textbook definition of the Hebrew word môʿēd or appointed time of the Lord.  The only feast the trumpet is associated with is the Feast of Trumpets.  Just as you previously saw the trumpet sounding in the Sign of the Son of Man, which is the sign of the coming of our Lord and Savior, this is also a verification of what the Bible teaches; the Rapture & Day of the Lord will occur on the Feast of Trumpets.

Second, it says, let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.”  With the bridegroom being Jesus Christ and His saints being the bride; the bride is told to “come out of her closet,” or in other words, go out to meet Him.”

It is essential to take note of the “and the bride out of her closet.” The original Hebrew word translated to closet is quite a surprise.

Remember we told you that Jewish weddings take place at night under a canopy-like tent called a chuppah. The Hebrew word used for closet is “ḥuppâ.”  Huppâ is the Ancient Hebrew spelling and pronounced the same as chuppah as you can see from Strong’s Dictionary.  Now we have two witnesses telling us that when the Rapture occurs, we are to go ye out to meet Him.”  Now let’s look at a third.

Revelation 3:20 (KJV)
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me

Revelation 3:20 has been interpreted in many ways, most commonly having to do with accepting Christ as Savior.  However, the REAL interpretation of this verse deals with the Rapture of His saints.  The proof is this verse is part of the letter written to the Church at Laodicea, which represents the last church of the church age, meaning the church that exists at the time of Christ’s return.  Our Lord ended His letter to each of the churches with a warning about His return; except the church of Smyrna; the church of martyrdom.  They gave their lives for Christ, so there was no need to mention it.  Neither did He mention His return to the Church at Laodicea because this verse is a description of the wedding supper, this verse takes place during the Rapture of the saints.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knockWhat door? Strong’s Greek Dictionary defines the word for door here as a portal or an entrance.  This portal would be the same portal or doorway our Lord spoke of when He said, So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”

If any man hear my voicewould be the cry that goes out at midnight.

And open the doorwould be the go ye out to meet Him and the let the bride come out of her closet.”

I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.That describes the moment in time when your earthly body dies and drops to the ground.  Your new spiritual body comes to life when the two become one.  The new spiritual body is transported up into the heavens.  What you just read is the wedding supper, known as the Wedding of the Lamb.  The “sup” is short for supper.  The original Greek word is translated to “dine” as in dinner or the main meal of the day.

Matthew 25:7 (KJV)

Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

It becomes obvious here that the lamps of both the foolish and the wise were left burning while they slumbered and slept because a lamp is only trimmed after it has gone out and before the next use.  If the lamp of the wise had not gone out, all they would have needed to do is add a little more of the extra oil they brought with them. This is confirmed in the next verse.

Matthew 25:8 (KJV)

And the foolish said unto the wise, give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out

The foolish would not have said their lamps have gone out if they were not burning previously.  This also tells us that like the wise virgins, they did not bring lamps that were empty.

Now is probably the time to say that the “lamps” represent the Word of God.  (Psalm 119:105 (KJV) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.)  Oil is a metaphor representing the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit that guides us, and it is the Holy Spirit which opens to us the deeper meanings or “meat” of the Word of God.  Like Christ, the Holy Spirit has the ability to turn darkness; which is no understanding of the Word of God, into light; which is the knowledge and understanding of the Word of God, which lights our path.  However you want to look at it, it was the oil in these lamps that was turned into light, which represents the knowledge and understanding of the Word of God.  The more “light” one has, the deeper their understanding of the Word of God.  It is really the amount of Gospel light each group had we should be looking at. This is what distinguished the “wise” virgins from the “foolish” virgins.

Matthew 25:9 (KJV)

The cry went out at midnight announcing the bridegroom was on His way, and all of the virgins were to go out and meet him.  The wise virgins knew the call would go out at midnight, but they did not know exactly how long it would be before they met him, so they did not know how much more oil they were going to need.  Because of this the wise virgins told the foolish virgins to go out to those that sell and buy the extra oil.  This is quite similar to the counseling Jesus gave to the Church at Laodicea, the church that will be experiencing the return of our Lord.

Revelation 3:18 (KJV)

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see.

In both cases He is speaking of more understanding of the Word of God, which is Jesus Christ.  It is one of the few things we can buy without money or price according to Isaiah 55.

Matthew 25:10 (KJV)

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

While they were still on their way to buy the oil the bridegroom came.  This tells us there will not be a lot of time from when we first hear the cry to the time we are redeemed.  Notice that it says, “they that were ready went with Him to the marriage.”  “They that were ready includes a number of things.  You will need to be in good standing with our Lord, as in sins confessed and repented of as well as knowing Jesus Christ as savior, Prophet, Priest, and King.

And the door was shut:” As you would expect our Lord knows who is coming and who will remain.  The 5 foolish virgins that did not bring enough oil (light) missed the wedding ceremony. They knew the day of the wedding, but they did not know the time the groom would come.  If they would have paid a little more attention to the invitation (Word of God) they could have avoided a lot of grief.

Matthew 25:11-12 (KJV)

–Afterward came also the other virgins. –This would be all those that did not know the day of the wedding or that they would need to “go out and meet him.”  They probably were awakened by the cry, or because of the brightness in the middle of the night, but they had no idea what to do until it was too late.  Once the eastern light has caused too many stars to “fall” from the heavens, it is no longer considered to be a Jewish wedding, and therefore too late.  Once we hear the cry go out, we are given time to go out and look for the eastern sky to begin to lighten. Since we know the Rapture will take 24 hours to fully complete, we know that once we see the eastern sky begin to lighten, it will be less than an hour before our redemption happens.  Luke tells us:

Luke 21:28 (KJV)
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

–Saying, Lord, Lord, open to us“– was a cry of desperation.  All of Christendom knows you don’t want to be left behind.

But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you notTake very special note that He said, “I know you not” and not “I never knew you.”  That alone says it all!!!  If Christ said to them “I know you not” it means they did not know Him.  Knowing someone is a two-way street.  You cannot know someone well if they do not know you.  Since this is a wedding ceremony it can be said that you may know a lot of people, but do you know them well enough to marry them?

It’s no coincidence that the reason why the foolish virgins were denied admittance to the wedding is because they did not have an adequate knowledge of the ‘Word of God.”  There are many that are going to question this because it does not seem just to us, but the fact of the matter is that the majority of Christians today are not studying or even reading the Word of God, so how will they know what to do when the Rapture does happen?  Their story will be the same as the 5 foolish virgins; if they had known beforehand what would happen, they would have taken all the necessary steps to be accounted worthy.  God, in His mercy has given us so many warnings about this, but we have interpreted them the wrong way.  He has not only warned us multiple times to “watch,” He has also told us when to be watching and what to watch for.

Jesus Christ is as Revelation 19:13 tells us “The Word of God.”  Paul tells us in Hebrews 7:17 Christ is “a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”  Melchisedec was a prophet, priest and king.  There are many Christians that know Christ as their “Priest.”  The Priest performed the sacrifice which Christ performed for all mankind when He gave His life to pay the penalty for our sin.  By the confessing and repenting of sin and asking Him to save them, many have acknowledge Him as their priest.  Of this group there are those that will show up for church on Sunday, but they do not spend time with Christ on a daily basis.  They do not spend time praying or reading the Word of God and they do not put their faith and trust in Him. Neither do they give His commandments the attention they should.  They know Him as their priest, but they do not know Him as their prophet or their king.  In other words, they do not understand His prophecies and they do not do the things He asked them to do.  Things like witnessing, reading and studying His Word, and separating themselves from the things of this world.

Next there are the solid Christians that spend time with Him on a daily basis.  They pray and read and study His Word.  They witness and live the life He asked of them by putting their faith and trust in Him and keeping His commandments because they love Him.  These are they that know him as their Priest and King.  There is no doubt that His grace and mercy will be extended to them, but it does not mean they will be Raptured when that day comes, and it does not mean they know him as their Prophet.  This may not seem important to many, but once one has a correct understanding of the prophecies He has given us, one will find they did not know Him as well as they thought they did.  There can be no doubt that the five foolish virgins were lacking important knowledge regarding Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ is the “Word of God” and Bible prophecy points to Jesus Christ.  When you understand things like the Sign of the Son of Man, the Wedding of the Lamb, the Feasts of the Lord, and you can see how the Fall Feast Days are built right into the book of Revelation, you will need to adjust some of the beliefs you have, and some of them will not help you win popularity contests down at church.  However, they will help you to be ready when our Savior calls for you, because you will have more knowledge of and better know our wonderful Savior and Lord.

Matthew 24:32-33 (KJV) Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.  (Nov. 2, 1917; “The Balfour Declaration” allowing Jews to return to Israel)

Those that read and interpret this verse attribute it to 1948 when Israel declared statehood and became a nation once again; but this is not the time spoken of in this prophecy by our Lord.  Contrary to what you may believe or been told, a fig tree gets its start from a 12-inch cutting taken from a mature tree because fig seeds are very difficult to cultivate.  The tree cutting is then placed in some moist soil or a seeding pot.  We know this is the correct interpretation because this verse uses the word branch in the singular and not “branches” in the plural.  Once the roots form and its leaves begin to grow or put forth, the seedling then gets planted in the ground where it will spend the remainder of its life.   Israel became a nation in 1948 when it was planted in the ground.  Israel was tender and began to put forth leaves in 1917 after the signing of the Balfour Declaration, which was drawn up and signed on Nov. 2, 1917.  This returned to the Jewish people part of the land that God had promised them.  It is this 1917 date and time that Christ was referring to here, and not 1948 when Israel became a nation.

This is significant for a couple of reasons:

  1. In the Old Testament our Lord commanded Israel to honor a “Year of Jubilee” every 50 years. They could have slaves and sell their land and homes, but every 50th year the slaves were to be set free and the land and homes were to go back to the original owner. This statute was to help keep Israel from coveting their neighbor’s goods.  On November 2nd 1917 part of the land was returned to Israel, making it by Biblical definition a year of jubilee.  They were given permission to start returning to the land our Lord promised them.  Fifty years later, in 1967 there was a 6 day war and control of Jerusalem was returned to Israel making it another year of jubilee.  It was on December 6, 2017, President Donald Trump formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and stated the American embassy would be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The actual year of Jubilee has been forgotten over the centuries, but these along with other occurrences dating back to 1867 may be providing us with some rather solid evidence as to when the year of Jubilee should be honored.
  2. The second reason that knowing the actual date when Israel’s branch was tender is the amount of time Christ gives before all things will be fulfilled. A modern generation is 20 years. In verse 34 He states that there will still be some of that generation here when He returns. In other words, some of those that were born on or before the time Jews began immigrating back to Israel in 1917 will still be here when everything is fulfilled. That was 108 years ago, so that in itself tells you that our Lord’s return is VERY near.

He told us what to watch for.  It has been stated that more than a third of the Bible is prophecy.  As you have been shown, there are many prophecies of time which can be known, yet this is seldom talked about in any Sunday School or church sermon as it is deemed not important.  They tell us the return of Jesus Christ will come as a complete surprise to everyone, so why should anyone look at or study any of this prophecy stuff!?

He told us what month and day to watch on, The Feast of Trumpets.  He told us the day we need to be watching, and the parable or the 10 Virgins has provided us the “hour” or “watch” we need to be aware. How much more must He do?

Matthew 24:43 (KJV)

But know this; that if the Goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

First, YOU are the Goodman of the house. It you are a Christian, the Temple of God dwells within you. This verse does not say the Goodman of the house can not know when the thief will come, it says the Good man of the house will watch if he knows what watch the thief will come!

If the foolish virgins would have known the call would not go out until midnight, and they were expected to go out and meet the groom, they would have brought more oil.  You now know what time the call will go out, and you know you need to go out and meet the groom. But do you know what will happen next and what to look for?  Are you going to be a wise or foolish virgin?  Has anyone told you how the Rapture is going to happen?  Does what you now know about the “Sign of the Son of Man” and the Parable of the 10 Virgins give you the impression it is an unplanned event, a random occurrence that could happen at any moment? No!!!  Everything with God is well planned well ahead of time, and there are tests for us, even during the time of the Rapture.

Going out to meet Him is a demonstration of obedience as well as the faith you have in Him.  Whenever Christ healed the sick and the lame He always said, “Your faith has made you whole.” How much more whole could we possibly be made than when we are one with Him?  Is it too much to ask that we be ready and waiting for Him?  All our Lord asked of Naaman is that he go and dunk in the Jordan River seven times, yet he almost didn’t do it.  Our Lord could have just healed Him on the spot, but that would not have demonstrated any faith by Naaman.

Matthew 25:13 (KJV)

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Please note that it is definitely not the wise or foolish virgins this verse is directed to.  It is you; for ye” know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.  Why would Jesus Christ himself give us this warning if we cannot know the “day and hour” of the Rapture? It is obvious that the virgins in this parable all knew the day of the wedding.  But it was only the wise virgins that were aware of the “hour” and knew ahead of time what was going to happen and what would be expected.  That is why they brought the extra oil in their vessels.

Why is it that our teachers do not see what our Lord is telling us in this verse?  He did not say “watch” because you cannot know the day or hour that the Son of man is coming.  He did not say “watch” because you will never know the day or hour the Son of Man is coming.  He said “watch” because you do not know when the Son of Man is coming.  The Greek word for “watch” used here is the same word used in all the Gospels.  The Greek word for watch is the exact same word for “be vigilant.”  Webster’s 1913 dictionary says “vigilant” means to “be attentive to discover and avoid danger.” This definition tells us everything we need to know concerning the commandment given in this verse.  When our Lord says, “Watch therefore,” He is telling us “Be attentive to My Word,” and discover the meanings of the prophecies it contains so that you will know the wedding day and avoid the consequences you will suffer should you miss it.

Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Of course, no one knew the day or hour of His return when He spoke this.  It was impossible for us to know because none of the prophecies regarding the end times had been fulfilled at that time.  Bible prophecy was written in such a way that it would be almost impossible to know until the time it would be needed.  Many of the prophecies in the Old Testament were not fulfilled until after 600 A.D., about the same time the prophecies in the New Testament began to take place.  It is through our understanding the prophecies given in the Word of God that we will be able to know the day (year) and hour (Fall Feast Season) in which He will return.  This is just one of the reasons it is important for us to keep this commandment to watch and be vigilant in studying His Word. Also, don’t forget that if you understand and are rehearsing the Feast Days as He commanded, you should never be caught off guard.

Now we come to prophecies that are all about the time of the end and the Rapture of His saints. However, please keep in mind one must still consider other passages in the Bible that refer to this time period. Passages such as Revelation chapters 6, 9, 11, and 17. One must correctly interpret these chapters and everything must fit together correctly.

This is a much expanded introduction which is a much reduced version of what you will find in the book. It is done with the hope you will read the book chapters listed at the end, and do some studying and research on your own. You will find many more wonderful prophetic fulfillment’s if you are able to read the rest of the book. These revelations will be hard to argue with because they are history just as it has happened. You will find the timed prophecies are correct to the year further proving the historical interpretations correct. This could only happen if we have a God who truly knew the end from the beginning. With that said, here is commentary on Daniel 12 which includes commentary on Revelation 6.

Daniel 12: The Year of Our Lords Return

Please keep in mind that Daniel 11:40 tells us this will take place at the “time of the end.” Most people would say there are three prophecies of time in Daniel chapter 12. Actually there are four. All Bible Prophecy is based on a “Day = a Year” basis, as this formula is spelled out multiple times in the Bible. There is one exception, but it does not apply to the prophecies of Daniel 12. In order of appearance they are:

  • A “Time” = 1 Year (Daniel 12:1 KJV)
  • A “Time, Times, and an Half = 3 1/2 Years – Computed as Time (1yr) + Times (2yrs) + 1/2 Year) = 1279 Days = 1279 Years (Daniel 12:7 KJV)
  • A “Thousand Two Hundred and Ninety Days = 1290 Years (Daniel 12:11 KJV)
  • A “Thousand Three Hundred and Five and Thirty Days = 1335 Years (Daniel 12:12 KJV)

Daniel 12:1-3 (KJV)

1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time (time of trouble) thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

First, verses 2 & 3 verify these events take place at the last day of the last year (day) during the Rapture of His saints, which occurs during the Feast of Trumpets.

A time of trouble: Israel has been going through periods of trouble for the last 100 years, but the last 20 years have been some of the hardest. In the last 20 years they have experienced many terrorist attacks, suicide bombers, and innumerable rocket launches from Muslims so close to them they have but 45 seconds to get to a bomb shelter once the warning sounds. Yet the death tolls of these numerous attacks have been relatively low. These attacks come from Muslims who believe they will be guaranteed a ticket to see Allah if they kill someone of the Jewish faith or any non-Muslim, and die in the process. While it is true, they will most definitely see Allah if they kill the innocent, it is also true that Allah is not who or where they think he is. One of the many names given to Allah is “The Great Deceiver,” but after almost 1,500 years they still haven’t figured out they are the ones he is deceiving.

However, none of these numerous attacks are the time of trouble Daniel 12:1 refers to; and neither does it refer to Jacobs time of trouble. The “time of trouble” this refers to is the latest attack initiated by Hamas on October 7th 2023. This is when Hamas invaded Israel and murdered, raped, tortured, and did unspeakable things to more than 1200 people in Israel. They also kidnapped and returned to Gaza with more than 200 people. More Israelis died in this attack than on any other day since Israel became a nation. Even during the whole 1967 Six Day War, Israel lost 983 people according to the highest estimates. It can now be stated the October 7th, 2023 surprise attack was the opening of the 5th seal in Revelation 6: 9. This can be confirmed because Revelation 6 speaks of this same attack.

Revelation 6:9-11 (KJV)
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11  And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

The date October 7th, 2023 is when Hamas attacked Israel. On the Jewish calendar it is known as the 8th Day, the last day of the “Feast of Tabernacles.” In Old Testament times it was a time of dwelling in Booths, just as they did after leaving Egypt. The “Feast of Tabernacles” is an eight day Feast, with the first and last days being sabbath (No servantile work) days. It was during this week Israel sacrificed a specific number of animals each day. (Numbers 29:12-38) These sacrifices were actually made on behalf of the countries in the world during that time. Thus, there is a special connection with the sacrificial altar on this day and the “souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.”

That “white robes were given unto every one of them” tells us these souls were just recently slain. We also can deduct that our Lords return is very near because it is only a little season before the 6th seal is opened. The 6th seal is the Rapture of His saints, (Revelation 6: 12-13) which occurs immediately following the deaths of those that were slain for the word of God. Daniel 12: 2-3 speaks of these same events which occur during the “Feast of Trumpets.”

In Bible prophecy a “time, season, and a day” can all be attributed to a year. In addition to this, a season can be anything from one to many years. Thus there are short or long seasons. However, the Hebrew calendar is a lunar-solar calendar which is based on both the sun and the moon. This means the months are determined by the moon, and the years are adjusted by the sun. With this type of calendar the years can very as to how many days there are in any given year.

NOTE: In case you are wondering, The Hebrew year 5785 ends at 6 PM on September 22, 2025 with the Hebrew New Year 5786 beginning at that same time. This is the night of the “New Moon,” the first day of the Hebrew month of Tishri, and the beginning of Feast of Trumpets. If what you have read thus far is correct, this should be the night of the Rapture of His saints some time around or after the midnight hour. Since the Sign of the Son of Man tells us the Rapture will be performed at the rotational speed of the Earth, the actual time it occurs at any given location should not differ by much more than an hour. the exceptions would be countries larger than one time zone that keep the same time in all time zones or countries that use Daylight Savings Time.

Daniel 9:26 (KJV)
26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

In the Bible, different types of waters are used as metaphors to describe various conditions of man. A “sea” describes a very large population of people. A “flood” describes a group of people that have left one country and went into another, just as a traditional flood is water overflowing its river banks. In this case it is a Muslim army that left Gaza and invaded Israel. It’s not a coincidence that Hamas called their surprise attack on Israel, “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.” as in “the end thereof shall be with a flood. Al-Aqsa is a Muslim mosque, and the Dome of the Rock is a Muslim temple, the Abomination of Desolation. Both of these Muslim buildings sit on the Temple Mount, where Solomon’s Temple and the 2nd temple once stood.

Daniel 12:4 (KJV)

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Our Lord is telling Daniel to close the book and seal it.  Essentially our Lord is telling Daniel to stop writing and seal the book because people are not going to understand it until the time of the end.  At the time of the end the book will be unsealed and the ones who understand it will “run to and fro,” telling others the interpretation that has been revealed to them. We could not have possible known what this event was until it actually happened. This is prophecy being fulfilled in real time, but almost no one sees it. This is why our Lord instructed us to “watch.”

And knowledge shall be increased” has nothing to do with man’s overall knowledge, except as it concerns the knowledge regarding Daniels writings.  It is the book of Daniel that is the subject here and to try to make it about something else will only serve to lead people astray.

Daniel 12:5-7 (KJV)

5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. 6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swear by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

These verses sound a great deal like the first seven verses of Revelation 10, except there we are dealing with the two sides of a river, and in Revelation 10 a mighty angel has his right foot upon the sea and the other foot upon the earth. The man in linen of Daniel 12 lifted up his right and left hands up to heaven and swear by Him that liveth forever. The “great angel” of Revelation 10 lifted up His hand to heaven and swear by Him that liveth forever “there should be time no longer.”

There is no doubt that the “great angel’ of Revelation 10 is Jesus Christ. While it is likely the one dressed in linen here is also Jesus Christ, it is not a sure thing. Remember seas, rivers, waters, floods, are all metaphors for different groups of people. In the case of Daniel 12 the man in linen was upon the waters, just as the woman of Revelation 17 was upon the beast. The “beast of Revelation 17 was men without the love of God in their hearts, so in this case the man in linen could be Christ and the people of the river His followers, or the “children of thy people” mentioned in the first verse.

Next the one on this side of the river ask the man clothed in linen “How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? The man in linen responds “It shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.”

The big questions here are “how long is a “time, times, and a half” and what is “to scatter the power of the holy people? The Hebrew word for power used here is the word “yad” which literally means “hand” or “the terminal part of the arm used to perform functions of man’s will.” This is referring to the punishment placed on Israel by God for their rebellion and disobedience. They were removed from the Promised Land and dispersed all over the world. Gentiles would now control their Promised Land. This verse is telling us when their punishment is over, and they once again control their land, then all things will be finished. In other words, the “time of the gentiles” will begin.”

The “time, times, and a half” is not what most people think it is. Current day teachers will say it is 3½ years. That is true if you are just discussing the Hebrew language and customs, but this is Bible Prophecy, and time has a different value.  There is no way the punishment of the Jews was only 3½ years. The key to time in Bible Prophecy is a day is equal to a year, so in order to know the length of time revealed you must know how many days in 3½ years and convert it to years. Most people would say ”that’s easy, 3½ years is 42 months times 30 days in a month equals 1260 days.” Sorry, but that’s not correct. If you count the number of days in 42 months, you will find yourself off by 19 days. The correct answer is 1279 days, which when converted to prophetic time gives us 1279 years. This is our answer, but where does it take us? Please be patient for a few more paragraphs where we will find the information that allows us to put everything together and see how our great and wonderful Lord has revealed everything to us, just as He said He would. (Remember the 1279 years)

Daniel 12:8-10 (KJV)

8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Daniel did not understand so he asked another question. What shall be the end of these things? The King James translators added the words “these things” to further clarify it for us, but in this case, it may not have been needed. Daniel’s question literally was “what is the end?”  The word used for “end” here is “aharit,” which means “end, latter, last, or hinder-most.” So, Daniel was really asking “When is the end?” Also, Many shall be purified, and made white, and triedtakes place at the very end, when the rapture of His saints occurs.

The response Daniel is given may sound as though Daniel’s question was not going to be answered, but the opposite is true. More than once in Daniel an angel tells him that he is greatly beloved. Our Lord answered Daniels question, but Daniel had no way of knowing what it meant because most of the answer takes place at the end, and it’s difficult to get any more distant future than that! (at least it used to be!) After Daniel is told his book is already closed and sealed, he is given a description of the end when “many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly and not understand.” Next Daniel is given two prophecies that answer all three questions asked in this chapter.

 Daniel 12:11 (KJV)

And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

In Bible Prophecy a Day = a Year, so this verse tells us from the time the daily sacrifice is taken away until the abomination of desolation is set up will be 1290 years.

Most Bible Prophecy students believe the “daily sacrifice” stopped in 583 B.C. when Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple were destroyed, but that is not the date Daniel 12:11 is referring to.  The verse specifically says, “from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away.”  The meaning of “taken away” is more like “carried away” or “departed.”  King Jehoiakim began his reign over Judah in 609 B.C.  Jeremiah 36:9 says “And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem. The reason for this fast was King Nebuchadnezzar had just defeated Syria and Jerusalem was next on his places-to-conquer list.  If you take into consideration, it was the 5th year and 9th month of the reign of King Jehoiakim and the time it would take to bring Nebuchadnezzar’s army to Jerusalem, choose those who would be taken to Babylon, organize and prepare for the return, it would have been very close to 6 years into his reign and 603 B.C.

When the King of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, II Chronicles 36:7 tells us “Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the House of the Lord to Babylon and put them in his temple at Babylon.”  Thus, the vessels they used to perform the sacrifice were taken or “carried away.”

The computation of 603 B.C. and adding 1290 years will come out to 687 A.D. on a calculator.  However, when going from BC to AD you must add 1 year because of the way they dealt with the birth of Christ.  To compute time the way it was set up, you must remember to add a year when going from BC to AD and you must subtract one year when going from AD to BC. When you add 1 year to 687 A.D. your answer is 688 A.D., which is the year construction began on the Dome of the Rock, which the Bible calls the “Abomination of Desolation.”

Just as Christ foretold in Matthew 24:15, the “Abomination of Desolation” spoken of by Daniel the prophet would “stand in the Holy Place.” It stands on Mt. Moriah, the very same “Mount of the Congregation” where both of the Jewish temples stood. Also, please notice the prophecy is very specific as it states, “the abomination that maketh desolate set up.” The Muslim Mosque “Dome of the Rock” began construction in 688 A.D. and took more than 3 years to build. It’s called “abomination” because our Lord called the high places the heathen and Israelites built on hills to worship false gods (Satan) “abominations.” It’s called “of desolation” because that is what happened to Jerusalem and the surrounding regions after this Islamic temple was completed. Jerusalem and the surrounding area became desolate.

This is also the fulfillment of Isaiah 14 where God is talking to Satan and says:

Isaiah 14:13 (KJV)

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

You have just read 3 prophecies regarding the Abomination of Desolation. All of them were absolutely correct and you cannot name another building that was “set up” on Mt. Moriah and fulfills all 3 prophecies. Our God has been extremely patient in leaving this structure stand as long as He has, but it’s not hard to see how offensive it is to him. He has told us He is a jealous God and He uses the building of this temple as the base year of prophecies in the Old and New Testament.  Perhaps the biggest of them is the one we have saved for last. It’s the one where our Lord reveals when the “Time of the End” begins.

The END of These Things

It has long been my belief our Lord withheld nothing from us concerning the year of our Lords return. As was demonstrated earlier, He has given us the month, day, and hour to be aware already, and He has stated that He foretold us “all” things, so why would He withhold the year from us?

The answer is “He would not and did not,” and if you correctly interpret the players and happenings in prophecy, you will know the year when you see the evil happening all around you, which are the last prophecies being fulfilled. It only stands to reason, if you do not understand Bible prophecy, you will have no idea when the master will return for you. Reading Matthew 24 should convince just about anyone we are living at the time of the end. You just read that Revelation 6 tells us the October 7th 2023 attack on Israel is the beginning of the “last day.” (which is the “last year”) Now let’s see what the 1335 day prophecy of Daniel 12 reveals to us.

A few paragraphs up you were told that our Lord uses the Abomination of Desolation as a base or starting point for a number of prophecies. The first few verses of Revelation 11 where the temple is being measured is referring to the location on the Temple Mount where the “Dome of the Rock” will be placed. It will be built on a wing of the Jewish Temple. You always take measurements before you begin building. The starting point of the 42 month and 1260-day prophecies of Revelation 11 begin with the setting up of this Moslem “Dome of the Rock.” The same is true with the 2 remaining time prophecies of Daniel 12.

We have already determined the Abomination of Desolation was “set up” in 688 A.D.. We also ascertained it would be 1279 years (time, times, and a half) from that date the scattering of the holy people would be finished. Our Lord just furnished us with the date His punishment of the Jewish people will be over, and they will be in control of the Promised Land once again.  In other words, the Time of the Gentiles will be over, and it’s now time to look to His chosen people Israel, to see what our Lord will do. Here is how the computation using the 1279 years works out.

The answer returned is the year 1967. You should recognize this as the year of the Middle Eastern “Six Day War.” This brief war took place when Israel’s Arab neighbors were secretly planning to go to war with Israel, but Israel found out and caught the Muslim world off guard by attacking first. Against all odds and while having to defend themselves on multiple fronts, Israel was able to pull off a stunning upset of their Arab neighbors, while at the same time suffering much less loss of equipment and life. Israel also expanded its borders by taking a lot of land from Egypt and regaining control of the Temple Mount. This ended the “Time of the Gentiles” and began the swift rebuilding of the Jewish state.

Daniel 12:12 (KJV)

Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

First, please notice there is nothing in this chapter that tell us to add the 1279 Days or the 1335 Days (Years) to the year the Abomination of Desolation was set up. Neither will you find the instructions to do so in any other chapter or verse. However, it is done in other places where the Abomination of Desolation is mentioned, and it is what needs to be done here if you want your answer to make sense and validate the events foretold.

The way Daniel 12 is worded, one would simplistically assume the 1335 days is speaking of a time that is just 45 days after the 1290 days when Abomination of Desolation is set up. However, there are a couple of problems with this which rule out this interpretation from even being considered.

First, the end did not happen 45 years after 688 A.D., so it obviously cannot be a correct interpretation.

Second, there was nothing of any major importance that happened in 733 A.D. (688 + 45 = 733) But: if you go back one year to October 10, of 732 A.D. Many people believe this prophecy speaks of the day Charles Martel defeated the Muslim Umayyad Army led by Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi in France at the Battle of Tours. This would be 44 years after 688 A.D. on the Jewish calendar because the Hebrew year changes to the next year in September or very early October. So, this would not fit this prophecy. The subject of this chapter has nothing to do with the defeat of the Muslim army, but it has everything to do with the “Time of the End” and the “Last Day,” which are the questions that have been asked.

Please be aware the “Last Day” can have a double meaning. In Bible prophecy, not only is a day the equivalent of a year, but like every year, the last year also has a “Last Day,” as in 24-hour day.

The box at right shows the computation of 1335 years added to the year 688 A.D.. The answer reveals the year 2023. It is natural to interpret Daniel 12:12 “Blessed is he that waiteth, AND blessed is he that cometh to the 1335th day,” as the coming of our Lord to Rapture His saints. The date this would have occurred is September 15, 2023, the “Feast of Trumpets.” (Tishri 1 on Jewish Calendar) However, it did not, which means it cannot be interpreted in this way. Instead, the beginning of the “Last Day” (Year) is October 2nd, 2024. This is the beginning of the “Little Season.” September 22, 2025 is the ending date of the “Little Season.” and the first day of the Feast of Trumpets. It is night of the New Moon on the night side of the Earth, while the partial solar eclipse takes place on the daylight side of the earth. Remember, the Sign of the Son of Man takes place during a solar eclipse when the “Sun is darkened,” (partial solar eclipse) and the “moon does not give its light.” (New Moon). In ancient times, the Feast of Trumpets did not begin until they spotted the thin first crescent of the moon, which usually occurs on the first night after the new moon.

It is the Feast of The Lord we should be using as our template for the events of the end of the end times, and not a missing week of Daniels “70 weeks.”

We’ve Been Using the Wrong Template

For countless years Seminaries, pastors, and ministers, have been teaching congregations there is a missing week in the 70 weeks Prophecy of Daniel 9. They teach us there is a gap between the 69th week and 70th week. (1 week = 7 years.) The missing week is placed at the end of time and divide into two 3½ year periods. The first period being the Tribulation, with the second period being the Great Tribulation. They then argue whether the Rapture happens at the start, middle, or end of this 7 year Tribulation period. This teaching without a doubt is completely false for a number of good reasons:

  • The missing week (which is not missing) is Daniel 9:27 (KJV) “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” The “midst of the week” is the middle of the remaining week
  • If you put a gap in the 70 weeks prophecy, it no longer is a 70 week prophecy.
  • There is no other prophecy in scripture that does this, so this one does not either.
  • The Bible uses the “Fall Feasts of the Lord” to tell us when the last events will happen. The book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ tells us what will happen on each day of the “Fall Feast.” (The Link to Chapter 17 below shows you how this is revealed.)
  • The 70 weeks of Daniel 9 is about salvation, not Judgement.

If you want to use a template for the coming judgement, a template taken from the time of Israel’s Exodus from Egypt will fit a lot better. Egypt in the Bible represents the world, and the coming judgement is to be executed on the entire world. God warned Egypt 9 times with different plagues (warnings) and they still wouldn’t let His people go. Then God exercised judgement on Egypt by killing the male firstborn of families and beasts that were not protected by the blood of a lamb placed on their door post.

In chapter 24 of Matthew we find much the same thing, with our Lord warning us of 12 occurrences to look for that will happen from the time of Mohamed to the time in which we are now living. These warnings are in reverse order; meaning the warnings mentioned first are the last to happen, and the ones mentioned last are the first to happen.

The first and last warnings are about following after false Christ’s and false prophets. The very last warning in verse 26 is: “Wherefore if they shall say unto you, behold he is in the desert; go not forth.” This speaks of Mohamed, who came out of the desert and is now the main prophet in the second largest religion in the world. Also, notice He even warns people not to go there. Muslims are supposed to make the “Hajj” (journey) to Mecca at least once in their lifetime, but our Lord warned them more than 500 years before there was Islam, not to go there.

Just as there was judgement in Egypt after nine warnings, Matthew 24 involves 12 warnings. Twelve is the number of perfect governance, and that is precisely what follows after these warnings. Mathew 24:27-31 reveals when the “Sign of the Son of Man” will occur. This is the Rapture of His saints during the “Feast of Trumpets.” The “Feast of Trumpets” is a 2 day Feast, with the first 24 hours being the Rapture of His saints followed immediately by the “Day of the Lord.” We will have perfect governance when our Lord is crowned King of kings and Lord of lords.

Daniel 12:13 (KJV)
But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Please take a close look at what the last verse of this chapter says. How can one read them and believe they are not referring to the last day.  “TILL THE END BE” & AT THE END OF DAYS”

Be Ready

There is no excuse not to be ready when our Savior calls, as there are now at least 2 or more witnesses for the Month, the Day, the Hour, and the Year of our Lords return.  Make sure your families and friends know about this. There is precious little time before the Feast of Trumpets is here on September 22nd, 2025.

If you are still a doubting Thomas, let’s approach the subject from the opposite direction.

Our Lord EXPECTS YOU to Know The Year, Month, Day, and be Aware of the Hour

Mark 13:23 (KJV)
But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

Notice that in a verse where our Lord declared to us, He “foretold us all things;” He began it with a warning. “But take ye heed” is much like saying “take note” or “be warned.” Don’t you find it curious that He would make this statement before telling us He has foretold us all things? As you will see, there would be no need to warn us if it were not essential we get it right and there were no consequences for our getting it wrong.

I have foretold you all things” covers a lot of things; but foretold refers to things in the future, the things to come.  Despite this, the church of today teaches He has not foretold us all things. How is this not calling God a liar? Is this not a repeat of what Israel did when our Lord told them to go in and take the Promised Land, but instead, they appointed 12 spies to go in and search the land? How can you not trust what our Lord says, and yet believe you will not run into problems because of it? Almost all of adult Israel was not permitted to enter the Promised Land because they did not trust what He said. Much the same will happen to present-day Christendom regarding the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ. Most current-day Christians will miss it because they did not believe He foretold us all things. (Confirmed in Matthew 24:48-51) Just about all of Christendom does not believe that He informed us of one of the most important days of our existence.  Christendom does not even believe the words of the Apostle Paul when he warned we would get the doctrine (teaching) regarding the Rapture of His saints wrong.

Paul Warns the Future Church Will Believe a Lie Regarding the Return of Our Lord

Did you know the Apostle Paul warned us, the last days church of Laodicea, which is the church of today, will believe a false doctrine regarding the return of our Lord and the Rapture of His saints?

Paul prophesied in II Thessalonians 2:1-3 that the doctrine of the end time’s church regarding the Rapture and Second Coming of Christ would be false, but you will not hear that coming from any sermon no matter what your denomination. If you were to present this to a present-day believer, they would probably tell you Paul’s warning was to “those with other beliefs” when in fact, he was referring to the almost universal teachings of today.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

First, you need to be aware that the “falling away” in verse 3 is the Greek word “apostasia,” which means “Apostacy,” or a “defection from the truth” or false doctrine. Paul wasted no time in making it crystal clear the subject of these verses is the “coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered unto Him.” That makes the subject of the false doctrine the Rapture of His saints. To try to make the subject of the “apostasy” something else is intellectually dishonest because the first two verses establish the context and subject matter.  The “Let no man deceive you by any meanssuggests you need to research this for yourself because it is far too important to accept without questioning what someone else tells you as fact. This is how the interpretation of Bible prophecy became “apostasia” in the first place, leading a vast majority of Christendom to believe that Christ could return at any moment.

It is what Paul says next that will further prove His prophecy true and our present-day teaching false. Paul states, “that day will not come except there comes a falling away first, and the man of sin be revealed.” Simply stated this verse says Christ will not return until the Church accepts a false teaching regarding the return of our Lord and the Rapture of His Saints and the Man of Sin is revealed.  Christendom does not know it, but the Man of Sin has been revealed.  The Word of God tells us when to look for him, where to look for him, what he will say and what he will do.  It even tells us what he will be called, yet Christianity completely missed this “Man of Sin” and to this day still has not made the connection.

Revelation 9:11 (KJV)
And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

The Bible was written in three languages, Hebrew, Arabic, and Greek.  This verse gives us what the Man of Sin will be called in two out of the three languages.  The actual meanings of the words abaddon and apollyon in the original Hebrew and Greek are Destroyer or Destroying Angel.  If you translate it into Arabic, it is the word Daes, which means destroyer, or one who crushes.  This is what Arabs called Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi the Caliph of Islam and leader of ISIS.  Muslims believed him to be their “messiah” which would make him the anti-messiah and Man of Sin, and Satan in the flesh.  If you add an “h” to the end of Daes, you have Daesh, which is an acronym for the Arabic phrase al-Dawla al-Islamiya al-Iraq al-Sham (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) which is another name for ISIL or ISIS.

Below is an exact news clip taken directly from a Fox News article published November 3, 2014, titled “The Good News that Nobody Knows.”  (The author had no idea just how right he was!)  It reveals what this third language is, along with other tidbits that help to verify the identity of this Man of Sin.

They are cognizant that ISIS (known as “Da’esh” – “to crush” or “the destroyer” – in Arabic propaganda promotes al-Baghdadi as the “messiah” who will save Sunni Islam from Shiite domination by the Ayatollahs in Tehran, the Alawite al-Assad dynasty in Damascus, and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon.”

This news clip does everything accept just come out and tell us that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of ISIS and Khalifa of Islam is Satan in the Flesh, the Man of Sin, the Lawless One, and the King of Babylon the Word of God has foretold us.  The one who practically all Christendom refers to as Antichrist. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is the “wound to the head that was healed.” After World War One Islam was forced to give up their Khalifa, who Muslims believe is Allah in the flesh and ruler or Head of Islam. On June 29th, 2014, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was named Khalifa or Islam. Everything (which is a whole lot) the Bible says about this Man of Sin, absolutely matches up. .

So not only has he been revealed; he has already set up his kingdom, ruled it for 3½ years, and went into hiding.  When confronted by U.S. Troops, he set off his suicide vest, killing him and his children. His antichrist kingdom went into perdition just as predicted in Dan. 7:26 and Rev. 17:11. Perdition means “destruction, but not total destruction.” This is a clear signal that this kingdom will make a comeback. This is why the Bible calls him the “Son of Perdition.” One of the very last prophecies before Christ’s return for His saints is happening right now.  This “anti-Christ” last day’s Babylonian kingdom is making a comeback. Just do an internet search “ISIS is back” and see how many articles there are from different sources. When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke after the October 7th attack, he clearly called the members of Hamas by the name ISIS. It could be because they committed unspeakable act of murder just as ISIS perpetrated when attacking Israel on Oct. 7th 2023.

If you need more proof our beliefs regarding the return of our Lord and the Rapture of His saints are not at all what they should be, let’s look at the Church of Laodicea in Revelations chapter 3. In the book of Revelation Christ speaks to 7 seven churches.  He speaks of things which were, things which are, and things to come. To 6 of the 7 churches, he speaks of His return.  The exception is the church of Smyrna, in which they all died as martyrs for our Lord. Of special interest here is the Church of Laodicea, the church of today.

It only stands to reason that the 7th and last church would be the church at the time of the return of our Lord Jesus Christ when judgement takes place. The name of the church bears this out. In Greek the word Laos means people, especially a large group or gathering of people, and Dicea means judgement. Put the two words together and you have “People of the Judgement.” This should leave no doubt this letter is to the church of today.  What is of particular importance is what our Lord says to this church.

Revelation 3:14-22 (KJV)

First the Lord identifies Himself as the faithful and true witness. Although He does not come out directly and say it, this hints at the idea the people of the church of Laodicea are not.  This sentiment is demonstrated in the verses that follow.

Next, He tells the church that He knows our works and that we are neither cold nor hot.  He then states that He wishes we were either cold or hot.  If we were cold having never been warmed by the Gospel light, there would be a better chance or our becoming hot and fervent Christians.  However, being lukewarm, means we have been warmed by the Gospel light without being brought to a fervent heat; meaning we have enough heat to lull us into a false sense of spiritual security, but not enough heat to save our souls from the reaping of the harvest in Revelation 14:14-16.  If we were a new church and our being lukewarm were a transitional stage between the cold and hot, that would probably be acceptable; but such is not the case.

The Church of Laodicea is the last of the church ages.  Being the last church, we have had more time with the written Word of God than all those before us.  Almost all the pre-Rapture prophecy has been fulfilled and the Church of Laodicea still does not have a clue as to what is going on or what God has revealed to us in Bible Prophecy.  The Church of Laodicea is basically in the same shape as Judaism was when Christ visited man during the time of the Roman Empire.  Because of this He says in verse 16; “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.”  What does spew mean?

As you can see by the word box, spew means to vomit and not just to spit as it has been translated in almost all the newer translations.  There is a very big difference between spitting and vomiting.  One has the urge to spit when one has taken in something that possesses a very bad or bitter taste.  Something one does not care to swallow.  However, one vomits food that has already been swallowed; food that contains a contaminant that begins to make the body feel ill.  Vomiting occurs when the brain sends a signal to the stomach to expel the contaminant it has determined will be detrimental or hazardous to the rest of the body if it remains.

What is this contaminant?  This should have been made quite apparent by now.  It is all the apostasy, (defection from the truth) found in the church of Laodicea, the church of today.  All the false teaching that has been swallowed by the church which is supposed to be the body of Christ.  This false teaching has remained in the church long enough to upset the stomach and now Christ must vomit it out of His mouth so that it doesn’t make the rest of the body ill.

What our Lord is saying here is a very serious indictment of the church of today; but if you were to try to tell this to a member of the church of today the reaction you will probably encounter is:

  • This whole thing about churches through the ages isn’t right.
  • There’s nothing wrong with me or my beliefs, it must be those Lutheran’s, Methodists, or some other group because everything I believe is right on!

These reactions sound very much like prophecy being fulfilled because Verse 17 tells us that the reasons Christ vomits the church of Laodicea out of His mouth are:

1.” Because thou sayest, I am rich”-This must refer to spiritual wealth because “and increased with goods;” meaning worldly wealth, immediately follows.  This describes the church of today perfectly.  Each religion believes their teaching and their ways are correct, yet most of them are following the words of men and not the Word of God.  Most are now using modern translations which completely destroy Bible prophesy and are written to fit the beliefs of the translator or a particular denomination.  Extremely few even know what the Feasts of the Lord are, let alone that they are prophetic.  Even the churches that do deem them important do not believe that God has in any way made it possible for us to know the dates of the last three Fall Feast of the Lord because they have swallowed the false teachings of man and have not payed close attention to what His Word says.  Many denominations use Sunday as the Sabbath day when the Bible clearly teaches that the day of assembly is the Sabbath. (Saturday) Genesis 2:3 states: “And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” One would think this verse alone would be enough to settle any debate.  Also, the Sabbath is actually the very first Feast of the Lord as given in Leviticus 23, and as you have read in the previous chapters, those Feasts will not be fulfilled until He returns.  There is no place in God’s Word that Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy was rescinded, and yet you are viewed as being ridiculous if you even try to discuss the topic.  The church of today does not take God at His Word and for that reason they will not be raptured as they believe, and they will not enter into His rest (millennium reign of Christ) unless they repent and get back into the whole Word of God.

2.” And increased with goods” This speaks to worldly wealth.  Many today are more interested in their balance in the bank than their balance in heaven.  Many make their decisions based on money rather than trusting in the One who promised to provide all our needs.  Is this not the same condition that has plagued mankind all through the ages?  God blesses us with so much that we focus on our riches as though we are rich because of something we did and we forget the One that provides us with everything, the One who deserves all the glory, praise and honor.

3.” And have need of nothing” The church of today is in the exact same condition as the Jewish Synagogues were during the time of Christ.  If Christ were to return to Earth today and do the same teaching and miracles He did 2000 years ago, the church of today would probably not know who He was.  We are so far off course we need to go back to the starting line because we are running around in circles and have no idea where the finish line is.  The fact of the matter is from Christ’s viewpoint as expressed in this portion of Scripture, we are way off course and not even aware of just how far.

4. And knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked The text box provided shows the exact definition of wretched as found in Webster’s 1913 English Dictionary.  What is found by analyzing this definition is eye opening and will most likely be rejected by the majority of Christendom today.

The first two definitions are not what He meant by wretched because He already stated that the Church of Laodicea is miserable and poor which are Webster’s first two definitions.  This leaves the third meaning to be what He means by the use of the word wretched.  That description is: Hatefully contemptible; despicable, and wicked.  Is it beginning to make sense why Christ does not want the Church of Laodicea to be part of His body?  If that does not make one sit up and take note, what will?  Do you really think Christ’s return is eminent because Christ is happy with the church of today?  Would not the world be a different place if the teachings of our churches were spot on, and the churches were honoring and being blessed by God?

We are too blind to see that we have not heeded the warnings and advice Christ gave to the four previous churches that did not take his advice and repent.  We don’t even take into consideration the possibility what our pastor or teacher told us may be wrong. Nor do we consider the words in the book we are reading have been changed to the point we can never know the REAL meanings of the letters to the seven churches.  In the end it will be found that we are guilty of the exact same things that the Israelites did and did not do.  They did not honor the seventh day Sabbaths, nor did they honor the Feasts of the Lord.  The Feasts of the Lord are the most important days in the Word of God, and yet there is hardly anyone in the Church of Laodicea that even knows what they are, let alone what they are about. They were also guilty of honoring the laws (words) of men and not the Word of God.  They did not do the things God asked them to do and they did not pay attention to prophecy.  He told them exactly what they would do and how He would respond, yet in the end it made no difference to them whatsoever.  God punished Israel severely for not hearing and believing Him, why should the church of Laodicea be any different?

Being blind means there are things that we and our churches are not seeing, and the importance of God’s Feasts is just one of them.  Our preachers and our church doctrine are telling us we cannot know the time of Christs return; yet as Christ’s letter to the church of Sardis teaches us, it is the dead church that He comes upon as a thief.

Christ mentions His return to six of the seven churches and mentions to four of the seven that if they do not repent, He will catch them by surprise when He returns.  Since Christ knows His return will be during the church of Laodicea the counseling and warning He gives to them does not fit the same mold as the other churches.

“I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire” Christ, the absolute best counselor there can be (Isaiah 9:6) now gives His counseling to the Church of Laodicea and tells them to buy from Him, Jesus Christ, gold which has been tried in the fire.  This gold tried in the fire refers to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.  The church of today is indeed rich in material things, but it is not rich in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, whose knowledge is better than all the material riches of the world combined.  It is spiritual wealth of the knowledge of Jesus Christ and not material wealth that the church needs.  It is the knowledge of Jesus Christ and faith tested by fiery trial that will lead to Christ imputing to the believer the white raiment of Christ’s righteousness.  It is this white raiment which will keep you from appearing naked and being ashamed at the judgement seat of Christ.  Paul says this best in Philippians.

Philippians 3:7-8 (KJV)

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless and I count all things but loss for the Excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.

If Christ counseled us to buy knowledge from Him, which is purchased without money, it must be located somewhere in God’s Word.  If he gave us this counseling, surely He must have told us what it was and where to find it.  He did!  If you do some research on the word Laodicea in Scripture, you will find of the five times it is used in the New Testament, four of them are located in the book written to the Colossians.  This is because the book of Colossians was also directed to be read in the church at Laodicea.  These two cities were neighbors, located quite close to each other, so what pertained to one was pertinent to the other.

As it turns out, in the first verse of chapter two Paul states that this epistle is for those of Colossae and Laodicea.  In verse three Paul states that in Jesus Christ “are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Sounds like we’re in the right place for Laodiceas’ membership to find the gold tried in the fire, doesn’t it?)

As it just so happens, verses 4-12 warn us of false teachers who try to deceive us with enticing words.  He tells the church at Laodicea:

Colossians 2:6-10 (KJV)

6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power

Take note of the warning given by Paul in verse eight that has not been heeded because the church of today, the church of Laodicea, has listened to vain deceit after the traditions of men and after the rudiments of the world.  We are so close to the end, yet the church of today has not yet figured out that ISIS and Abu Bakr al Baghdadi is the Man of Sin, Son of Perdition, and Lawless One that prophesy speaks of.  Almost the whole church of today is still looking for this great antichrist to come out of the European Union and sign some peace treaty with Israel.  They will never find these things because they are found nowhere in God’s Word.  As a matter of fact, the church does not even take the slightest interest in Biblical prophecy, even though it will lead you to Christ, just as the rest of Scripture does.

Next in verses 16 and 17 Paul gives us two verses which are loaded with information that is totally misconstrued and completely misinterpreted by today’s church.  Because these two verses have been changed so much in the newer translations there is no way one would ever come to know and understand the interpretation you are about to read.  So, let’s look at a couple of the newer translations to demonstrate what we have been saying.  The TLB actually gives you permission to not celebrate the Feasts of the Lord while the HCSB leaves one with the impression it’s OK to skip the Feasts of the Lord because they are a thing of the past.

Colossians 2:16-17 – The Living Bible (TLB)

“So don’t let anyone criticize you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating Jewish holidays and feasts or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. 17 For these were only temporary rules that ended when Christ came. They were only shadows of the real thing—of Christ himself.”

Colossians 2:16-17 – Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

“Therefore, don’t let anyone judge you in regard to food and drink or in the matter of a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of what was to come; the substance is the Messiah.”  The Holman Bible actually uses the word “festival” which shows they might know what follows are Feasts of the Lord, but they obviously do not understand them.  They also change the shadow of things to come to a shadow of what was to come, which seems to say the Feasts of the Lord no longer have any significance.

The modern-day church of Laodicea has no idea what a Holy Day, new moon, or even Sabbath day is.  If they even had so much as a clue what these words mean they would not interpret these verses in the way they currently do.

Now let’s take a look at what the King James Bible says.  What you are about to read makes complete sense if you understand the ethnic backgrounds of the congregation of the original church of Laodicea, and if you know the real meanings behind the Sabbath days and Feasts of the Lord. The correct interpretation of these verses is spot on with the warning to the current church of Laodicea, the church of today.  These verses are used as the main argument by the current church of Laodicea as to why a Sunday gathering of the church is permissible instead of the Sabbath day our Lord appointed.  This doctrine is 180 degrees out of phase with what these verses are actually saying.  Perhaps you will begin to see why our Lord told us we are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind.

Colossians 2:16-17 (KJV)

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy-day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Paul was covering this topic with these churches because the churches of Colossae and Laodicea were made up of a Jewish, Israelite-Gentile mix that were honoring the Feasts of the Lord and observing these practices.  Remember the Jews were to have nothing to do with the Gentiles and the Gentiles shared their resentment.  Most likely the mixed Israelite-Gentile members of these churches were being questioned or ridiculed as to why they would take part in these so-called Jewish Feasts and Jewish practices which include the eating and drinking of certain foods.

The fact of the matter is that every one of these days listed in verse 16 are Feasts of the Lord.  The Sabbath is the 7th day, and it is actually the first of all the Feasts of the Lord given in Leviticus 23. It is the day God commanded His people to meet and to rest.  By definition, it is a day of rest, a day in which no work is to be done.  The Holy Days are also considered to be both Sabbath Days and Feasts of the Lord in which no servantile work is to be done.  There can be up to 3 Sabbath days in a week according to God’s instructions.  The New Moon as you should know by now is what the Israelites called the Feast of Trumpets. This is the two-day feast that represents the Rapture of the church, (day 1) which is immediately followed by the Day of the Lord.  As you hopefully know at this point, this is the next appointed meeting time between God and man to be fulfilled on God’s calendar.  The absolute proof this interpretation is correct is given in verse 17.

It states these Holy Days are a shadow of things to come, which is not that difficult to understand.  It means they are a forecast or preview of the things which are going to take place in the future.  According to Vines Expository Dictionary a shadow is “the image or outline cast by an object.”  The last part of the verse further defines the image that is casting the shadow of the things to come.

“But the body is of Christ” refers to the shadow.  In other words, these Feasts of the Lord are a forecast of what Christ is going to do in the future because His body is the object projecting the shadow.  This is only one of the verses in the New Testament that clearly states the Feasts of the Lord are appointed times.

At the risk of repeating ourselves, let’s go back to John 16 and see what Christ told us would happen when the comforter or Holy Spirit is come.

John 16:13 (KJV)
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Do you think it is just coincidence that things to come should show up in Colossians? Christ was warning the church of Laodicea when He said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.” This is a good indication of why He does not tell the church of Laodicea to correct our errors so that He would come upon us as a thief.  He just told us exactly where He is.  He is standing at the door, ready to return at the appointed time, but the church of Laodicea is still looking for the return of the Roman Empire.  Bible prophecy is rarely taught, and when it is, it is so far off that one could consider it a blessing they rarely discuss it. This is very conclusive proof that the Church of Laodicea is the church of today.  As we showed you previously, the door He is standing at is the same door He mentions in Matthew 24, it’s the gateway to Heaven and He’s about to come through. This also tells us that He is not in the church if He has to stand at the door and knock.  He is not in the church because His Holy Word is not in the church.  We have so many new easy to read translations that people can’t read the Bible together or even follow along in Sunday school because the translations vary so much.  These new translations are not the Word of God; they should be called commentaries at best.  It is a fact that much of what is written here could never be revealed using most if not all of these newer translations, because seemingly unimportant words like also and crucified were either left completely out or changed to other words.  If the scribes were not allowed to change or leave out one single word, why do current day Bible scholars think they can?  If the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible, why do people not believe that the Holy Spirit can and will reveal its deeper meanings to us?

With that said, here’s the punishment of the evil servant that did not know when his lord would return.

Matthew 24:48 (KJV)
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming
;

The first thing that one must acknowledge here is if that evil servant shall say in his heart means this servant truly believes what is about to be said.

However, even before we talk about what this servant believes, we must understand who this evil servant is.  We need to understand this verse is not speaking to the unbeliever that does not know the Lord or does not know anything about the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.  It is not the atheist, Muslim, or person with no moral standards that is saying in his heart my Lord is delaying his return.  It is the preachers and teachers of the church of today who are telling us this, and it is the overwhelming majority of Christendom that is accepting it.

According to this verse, it is the evil servant that says, My lord delayeth his coming.”  So, what does this mean?  Strong’s Greek Dictionary shows the Greek word for “delayeth” is chronizō, which means to “take time” or linger.  If you open Webster’s 1913 dictionary you will find the definition of linger is “to be in suspense.”  The word suspense according to Webster’s 1913 Dictionary is “a state of uncertainty and expectation.”

Does this not describe perfectly the attitude of Christians today regarding the coming Rapture of His saints?  The information from each of the sources is provided if you have any doubts about what is stated here.  Even if you only take the word delay, is this not what many Christians are saying today.  “Oh, I just know the Lord is coming soon, but nobody knows when.”  If this is not saying that He is delaying; what does?  For sure this is a state of uncertainty and expectation!!!!

Consider the use and meaning of the word “delay.”  Let’s suppose your brother from across the country called you and said: “I’m flying in to see you on Delta Airlines flight 263 at 3 P.M.; please pick me up at the airport.”  You arrive at the airport at 2:30 P.M. and watch for him, but after 2 hours you still do not see him.  At what point in time do you say he was delayed?  Could you say he was delayed if you had no idea what day, time, or flight he was expected?  No, you could not.  There has to be a known or appointed time before you can say there has been a delay.  God knows the appointed time because He is the one that set the appointment, and if you love God and are wise and faithful, Matthew 24:45 tells you He will let you know when that appointment is!  There need to be two entities for there to be an appointment!  If only one party knows when it is, you do not have an appointment.

Matthew 24:49 (KJV)
And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken
;

This verse is not to be interpreted literally unless you have some Christian friends that are eating and drinking with drunkards and then going out and striking fellow Christians with their hands or some other instrument used for beating people.

44 Christian Smite

If you stop and consider this verse a while, doesn’t it really seem ridiculous to try and take this literally?  However, if you take it figuratively as it was intended; you will come up with something very different than what is being taught and believed these days.

Strong’s Greek word for smite is typtō, which in the figurative sense is “to offend the conscience.” That is straight from Strong’s Greek Dictionary.

To eat and drink with the drunken are all metaphors used in other places in the Word of God and you need to understand them to know what this verse is saying.  In order to be drunk, you have to be drinking too much of something that has alcohol in it.  In the time of the Apostles, that would be wine.  Wine in the Bible is a metaphor for doctrine or teaching, which can be good or bad.  You already know that waters, seas, rivers, floods are all metaphors for varying peoples in scripture.  Jesus’s first miracle was turning water to the best wine served at the wedding.   Jesus turned men (water) to good teachings and doctrine (wine). Good wine (doctrine) is good for your spiritual health.  But if a person has taken in bad doctrine or wrong teachings, they are considered to be drunk; stammering about, and not knowing what they are doing or saying.

This evil servant is offending the conscience of fellow servants because he has been eating (taking in or listening to) and drinking (swallowing) with the drunken. (Believers or spreaders of false doctrines or teachings)

So, what is this evil servant saying that offends the conscience of the fellow servants?  According to the previous verse, he is telling them that the return of their Lord is uncertain, and nobody knows when it is going to be.  He’s telling them this even though his Lord already gave him the Feast days (appointed times) and just got done telling him in Matthew 24:45 that he would give him more information as the appointed time drew near.  However, that verse also states one needs to be a wise and faithful servant to receive this information.

Matthew 24:50 (KJV)
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of
,

This verse is not hard to understand.  The lord of the evil servant will come in a day he’s not looking for him, and in an hour of which he is not aware.  This verse is as straight forward as can be, but the current day Christian believes the evil servant to be the drunken Christian that is out beating on other Christians with some sort of weapon.  He is not aware that it’s the current day Christian that isn’t beating anybody that has no idea when the master will return.

It only stands to reason that if the evil servant is telling other servants, they cannot know the time of their Lord’s return, surely he is going to be surprised when his Lord does return.  Please note that the Lord of this servant returns in a day that he is not looking for him and in an hour that he is not even aware of.”  If one would take and turn this verse around and make everything in it positive it would read something like this.  “The Lord of the good servant will come in a day that he is looking for him and in an hour of which he is aware.  That is NOT to say that he knows the exact time to the minute, but that he knows the night and is aware of the hour his Lord is returning for him.  He is awake and is anxiously waiting for the cry to go out.

Matthew 24:51 (KJV)
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth
.

The cut him asunder does not refer to the lashings that were given out for punishment during Roman times as some commentaries suggest.  Asunder means to bisect or cut in two separate pieces.  That seems quite harsh for being caught off guard when the Rapture takes place.  But when one looks at how far off course the church has gone by not heeding the warnings given to the churches, maybe this punishment is not that bad.  We have replaced the Word of God with the words of men, which is the same condition that existed the first time He came.  Would our Lord be returning if the church teachings were on target, and we were obedient to the things He asked us to do?

If you have any doubt about the punishment of the servant who does not know the time of his master’s return, and you think the cutting asunder by his Lord to harsh; this very occurrence is depicted for us in Revelation 14.  Our Lord provides us with a second witness to this, which takes place after the Rapture of all His saints and after the 144,000 are assembled as shown in verse 1.  That means all the wise and faithful servants that have kept the commandments of their Lord are accounted for, so only the evil servants that were not Raptured or sealed are left.  Then in Revelation 14:14 we read this.

Revelation 14:14-16 (KJV)
14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. 16  And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

This is the reaping of those who were cut asunder. Verses 17 and 18 deal with the reaping and burning of the tares as it mentions another angel who had power over fire.

Revelation 14:17-18 (KJV)
17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

Please, if you have any doubts about the things you have read in this article, take the time to research these things by looking up words in the original Hebrew, Arabic, and Greek they were written in. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you to the truth. This is what our Lord would have you do. The truth fears no questions.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
